Tires-Metzler z6

Bike got knocked over yesterday while parked. Met the insurance adjuster at bike shop. Minor cosmetics. While going over the bike noticed big nail in rear tire. Pilot Powers with about 1000 miles left.

Not a real sport rider, but all weather, lots off two up, shop recommended Metzler z6. Excellent shop but they are a dealer, does anyone know much about these.

About to find out how GEICO insurance is.

don't know a lot about the metzler z6 specifically, but I have the Pirelli Strada which is basically the same tire as the Z6 and very similar tread pattern. I love my Strada, and after 4,000 miles it still seems to have a good bit of life left in it. If they can't order you a Strada i say try a Z6 its only like $10 more than Strada.

I run the Z6 on three different bikes. Nice tire. Unless you're doing trackdays they'll hold up well and get excellent mileage.

The Z6's do pretty well but I like the Avon Storms better. The storms feel softer/sticker to me but still last quite well. I ran a pair though the tail of the dragon shortly after a rainstorm and still drug pegs in nearly every turn

I've run metzeler z6's on my 06 since 6k miles. Now at 26k and had to replace my last set yesterday... took a nail. They are an all around good tire with very good grip in the rain. The sets all lasted me 9k+ miles with 50 mile a day commuting. I had to get some diablo's cuz the dealer didn't carry the z6's.

z6 is an excellent tire. I have them on my '04 with about 2k miles on them and a 50 miles commute each day. I have ridden the dragon on them, many many interstate miles and many back country roads.

I would recommend them, though nearly exactly the same as the strada, i have heard z6's last a bit longer. also the z6 has like 5 rain grooves for every 4 on the strada.

I have the Stradas and they feel great. It was a toss up with the Z6's, Stradas were a lil cheaper. Don't think you could go wrong with either.

Good luck!
