Insurance Companies declare them totals and sell them at auction. They must make some decent money off of them too cause while mine had a hole in the block, it still looked good otherwise. It even rode well after the drop, a little low on oil but nothing much else was bent.
Anyway, the adjuster told me my 9er would bring in good money.
Good luck getting back to where you were before.
Not much more damage than what I sustained after hitting a curb head on at about 20mph. Insurance deemed it a total loss & hauled it away.
Good luck to ya.
I did that way back when. Managed to ride mine out but did put a little ding in the rim. Little misjudgment on my part as well. Thought it would be cool to run it up behind a strip mall, but didn't remember to give myself time to slow down. Luckily there was a large lawn and not a brick wall on the other side of the curb.
As for mdastrider, I can recommend Ron Ayers. They have an online fiche and a good supply of OEM parts. Otherwise this could be the beginning of some cosmetic mods
