Tank protector removal

Hey everyone, just wanted to pick your brains about removing those sticky tank protectors. I'm planning on using a heat gun to slowly peel it off, but am wondering if there are good products out there to get the leftover adhesive off the tank without scratching the paint. Any ideas? Thanks guys!

I've always used Goo Gone with pretty good results.

+1 for the Goo Be Gone... it works great and will not harm the paint. It's best to use plenty of water after you're all done with it. Then use a cleaner-polish followed by plenty of wax to finish it off.

Thanks for the quick replies, looks like they have specific automotive products too, I'll give them a shot.
