Taking the 919 to Florida

Hey guys, I finally bought a truck with my deployment money. It's a Ford F150 XLT Supercab 4x4 with the Triton 5.4 V-8. Right Now it's sitting in front of my house with my baby in the bed. Tomorrow I embark on a journey to Florida to visit my best friend Tyler, and a couple of buddies that I deployed with. Hopefully we get some awesome riding in. I have heard nothing but awesome stories of how the two wheel action is down there. Can't wait!

Congrats on the new hauler and... more importantly... thanks for your (and your buddies) service to our country.

Just watch out for the big bugs in Florida this time of year. Going to be hot and muggy!

Too often we lose sight of life's simple pleasures.
Remember when someone annoys you, that it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown ...
But it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and bitch-slap that mother- upside the head...

Pass it on.

What part of Florida? I have a business and house in Pensacola, which actually is more like Alabama than Florida, but still a nice place. Don't see many bikes on the road down there for some reason, but have been tempted to buy something cheap to ride when I'm in town.

Definitely wear your helmet, those Florida bugs could do some major damage!

I ride every Winter in Florida and it's a nice getaway from the Winters here in New York. But the riding is boring and sometimes frustrating -- very few technical roads, tons of traffic, mostly long straight roads and superslab, lots of ancient drivers that have removed their turn signals and replaced them with more horns But you'll be riding with friends so you'll still have fun!

First, thanks for serving our great country. Second, There are plenty of good roads to ride... just like any place else you have to look a little. I'd be glad to share some good riding areas with you, if you'll be in west central Florida. Congrats on the new truck! We do have our share of old folks on the road, but one trip to Clearwater beach and the resulting acres of bikinis will have you forgeting our blue hairs.

Florida: Land of the newly wed and nearly dead. Not a lot of exciting riding but sometimes that is a good thing if you are just going there to hang with friends and socialize.

I occasionally go to Kennedy Space Center near Cocoa Beach for my job. We had a guy on our team hit an alligator that was sunning on the road with his rental car. What a nightmare.

Have fun. Rinse your bike well if you get near salty air.

Ben, get your rig over to Robbinsville, NC! Tail of The Dragon! Cherohala Skyway! Blue Ridge Parkway! Hundreds and hundreds of (s)miles without end.

Unlike Florida (flat, snake and crocodile-laden) western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee (up-down-back-around whee! roads with only an occasional snake (brrr!)) are a motocyclist's paradise.

And, it's almost on the way! The "short" detour is worth the trip!

Hey, I own Yellow Cab and Tucker Black & White Taxi in Ft. Walton/Destin, so give us a call if you and your buddies have too much fun at the night clubs. You gotta head north from there for good riding, Hwy 98 is bumper to bumper. Some cool stuff in Destin, Sandestin and Ft. Walton Beach though, have a great time!

If you do. Make certain that you have the special rainbow triangle sticker on the 919 and practice your engrish mang. Assistance with both of these are available from RC90.

nice truck, you should go out and pre-scratch it right now so you don`t suffer the anxiety of waiting for that first scratch.

not a scratch... you need a full blown character dent.

Buddy went out couple yrs ago and bought a 2003 f150 xlt lariat quad cab 4x4 ... REALLY NICE TRUCK. 1st day he owned it he took a ball peen hammer to the bottom corner of the rear bumper. just one medium strength whack ... left a little "character dent" and hasn't put a scratch on the truck since.

We all laughed our asses off at him though... pretty funny watching a guy take a hammer to a $40,000 dollar truck DAY 1.
