And yeah, I agree, the 919 is a BAMF. To be more specific, it can easily "have it's ass handed to it by most sportbikes these days" to quote LDH. Thing is that the 919 just has this personality to it that no other bike has. Mine has a few scars on it and I think I kinda like it that way. Goes with the street hooligan aura.
3 years later I still get the "what kind of bike is that" observations.
It's a fool who looks for logic in the chambers of the human heart.
I've owned numerous bikes over the years cruisers, enduros, crotch rockets ect... and I have to say the niner is hands down my favorite. Doubt I'll ever get rid of her, just add more bikes to join her in the stable is all.
I'm in Milwaukee - i ride with a bunch of Duc owners - we blast out west of madison for most of our rides. There is a ride in 2 weeks called The Frozen Snot Run - mostly bar hopping here in town. but i'm working on getting the Heated Hand grips wired up for the occasion. if your crazy enough, ride on up to Brew City on March 11th
Take a look at the touring Journals - Bock posted for IL residents - i responded in there too.
I will be ear-deep in studying then but will try to meet you guys for a while. I ride that area frequently. Went up a few times in mid 30's. Fun for about an hour, then, well...frozen snot. Sounds cool, I'll see what i can do. thanks. If not, definitely in the summer.
