Stock pipes and side bags.

Has anyone had melting issues with the stock exhaust and soft sidebags? I've already melted a pair with my D&D's a few years back. I'm trying to figure out the best luggage solution for the occasional weekend trip with the girlfriend on the back (can't use my current tail bag).

The stock exhaust heat shields should protect them quite well. The only problem area I can think of would be if the bags extended past the cans and dip into the exhaust. That would definitely cause some melting. Try SW-Motech. They have some nice setups. I run Givi. They are expensive, but the trunk has a backrest and brakelight option for it, and the cases come off in a pinch. I ran soft cases on my trip from San Diego to Idaho and they ruined the titanium coating on my Leo Vince.

Unfortunately SW Motech quit making the quick lock brackets for the 919 last year, and I haven't been able to find any left in stock. I would prefer not to have a bracket that "permanently" bolts on because I don't take many long trips.

Here is a tail bag option if you're interested. The "L" bracket is a generic picture. You actually get 2 little pieces that bolt in place of your grab rail. Then the different rack attachments can be fit into them.

Ended up buying the racks that Givi makes rather than SW Motech. We'll see if this seller actually has them in stock. Thanks for the input though!
