speedo and tach remove

hello there guys! I'm new here at wrist twisters and hoping to find a solution to my problem. I'm converting my hornet 600 to a street fighter and I recently replace my headlight. but in order to have a good looks with that I must change my speedometer in to a smaller one and planning to get a koso db01r soon. for now I don't have a speedometer on my bike and I've notice that I can't get much rpm co'z every time I put to much on the throttle the engine sounds weird and have an intermittent revs. Is there something I must do with the wires I removed from the tach? should I bypass some of it? TIA hope someone can help me.

What year is it?

From the wiring diagram I was able to scare up it looks like the instrument cluster has only inputs, with no signals going to the ignition unit. The speed signal tees off and goes to both, and the crank angle sensor goes directly to the ignition unit which processes it and sends it to the tach.

A link to the wiring diagrams for early and late UK models, and a detail of the instrument connections: hondahornet.co.uk € View topic - wiring loom to clocks

Have you done anything else to the wiring or carburetion / airbox that may affect the running?

Anyway, that's as much as I can do for now.

Rob

If it has already been done, it is safe to assume it is possible to do it.
On the other hand, if it has not been done never assume it is impossible to do it.
