Speed Triple info...

I saw some guys asking about the Triple in other threads. I have lots of seat time on the last generation as well as the new one.

Let me know what you want to know and i will do my best to give some feedback. Worst case scenario I juat have to go and borrow one again to play, I maen, answer your question!

My initial impression....
Good...
White is the best color.
Rearsets came right off a sportbike. I am 6'2" and my legs felt in a similar position to my RC.
Handle bars are civil. Nice hieght and a good position to look around and watch traffic.
In 45 mile per hour zones it is not OK to punch the throttle in second. The front end will launch.
Pazzo levers fit
Triples sound great

Bad...
In excess of 110MPH a steering damper should be had. The front end walks all over the place.
Test out the front brakes, a handful had a problem witht he master cylinder. Free repair under warranty. It works without the fix, but it isn't right.
No provisions for a passenger. The back seat was an after thought.

Aftermarket exhaust... I have a friend with the Triumph "off-road" use only popes for sale. They sound great to me, but he wants carbon fiber sleeves now.

My friends have never had problems with the power plans since the bike dispacement has been 955.

I have one horrible experience with a triple, but it was all the owner's fault.

Triumph's all come with a 2 year warranty, so I would not be worried.
I bought a Tiger, so obviously I am comfortable with the Triumph line.

Displacement is 1050 now, new for '06 I believe. Supposed to be a monster. There is a dealership nearby and they have one in white, and they custom powdercoated the wheels a deep metallic ocean blue. KICKASS!

I love the white 06 Speed Triple. I got to ride it during a demo day and I was hooked. Unfortunately I'm not ready to spend that much on a bike so I got me an 03 919 to get me by Close enough, I'm happy with it.

I do love the S3 though!
