Side mount - 900rr or stock header?

I am looking at moving to the single low/side mounted exhaust system on my 2007 CB919.

I am looking at two options:
  1. 900rr header with single Danmoto Carbon GP pipe
  2. Stock header cut and rewelded with single Danmoto Carbon GP pipe

What are the exact model/year requirements for the 900rr header to fit on to a 2007 Hornet? I am having a hard time figuring this one out to make sure I get the right fit as I have read a lot of conflicting posts.

So I tried this. The inlet on the Dan Moto pipe is quite small. Like a half inch smaller. You will either need to weld on an adapter or somehow get the inlet pipe to stretch. Or call DM and see if they can make the inlet 63mm (correct me I'm wrong guys). You're better off going with a bolt on can for the cbr or for a 96-99 gsrx750. You can cut those down. Or another slip on that has a 63mm inlet. I loved the DMs and would have used them had it been easier.

Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.

I'm fairly certain any 96-99 900RR header will fit since the displacement is the same for both bikes across that span. Any other years, I couldn't tell you.

I THINK it goes back to 93. 93-99 headers will fit. And cans for CBRs and 96-99 GSXR 750s will fit the header.

I suspect you're right about that, but I don't have any research to confirm it. Don't want to lead on the guy with maybes

As for the muffler, the GSXR600 fits, as well. I have an SRAD OEM pipe on mine and it works great. Nice and quiet!

I just verified. All 93-99 CBR900RR headers will bolt up and work on a 919.

Be careful...all 93-99 STOCK headers will fit but if buying an aftermarket header you need to take a good look at it. I bought an aftermarket vance & hines 900RR header that wont work on the 919.

It will bolt to the heads no problem, but there isnt enough length in the bend to clear the bar that sits just underneath the exhaust ports on the bike. See my thread "900rr header woes" for more info.

Thank you for the help everyone - now to find a local 93-99 CBR900RR header!
