shortened the renthals

i shortened the renthal ultralows today.. and i must say i enjoy them much more.. with my height and wing span it forces me to sit further back in the saddle.. the bike feels more natural now i moved everything in about 1.5 inches, redrilled, new grips (always a treat anyway).. now i need one bar end mirror like the little round one some of ya'll are using... the only one i can find around here is the kinda sorta rectangular ones and i think their fugly.. anyway just letting everyone know i didnt totally waste my day off today..

Was your renthal bar stock length until this chop?

I took .75" off mine the day I installed it.

Is your impression that it is less twitchy having it more narrow?

they were stock length before i shortened them and actually now i think about it.. it doesnt feel as twitchy.. but i never realized that the comfort would increase that noticably (noticeably)... where i could tell so easily

i took 7/8" last weekend on mine and my friends. It handles much better than stock.

To each his own. I prefer the standard Renthal length.

I've been thinking about shortening my Renthal Ultra Low, too. I wonder if my sitting position will benefit since my arms won't be as wide apart... What's the best route? masking tape and a hack saw?

I've heard rumors that they don't pull you over around the Disney area...something about not wanting to spoil families' vacations.

I used electric tape and a hack saw. Then i used a grinder attachment for a drill and made it perfect and smooth. Then readded a bevel to the end like the stock ULs had.

I left my ultra lows as they came - I prefer the extra width as the stock Hornet/919 bars are a weird bend and very narrow.
