Service Intervals

Hi guys, it's been a while, hope you are all ok! So looking at the picture I posted, it seems obvious at first. The top scale is for intervals in miles and the bottom in kilometers. Nope. It does not add up. Can someone please clarify on how to read the service Intervals in kilometers? (Note 1 does not clarify this, page 3.3 of the workshop manual)

Itís missing the decimal points. Bring the decimal back one place to left.

Certainly. The first column says 10. It should read 1.0. All numbers are multiplied by 1000, so say the number and then, thousand km. 1.0 thousand =1000km. The next number is 64, it should read 6.4(thousand) or 6400km, 12,800km,19,200km, etc..

The intervals donít precisely align between miles and kilometers, but the lower row is missing a decimal point in every cell. It should read: ď1.0 6.4 12.8 19.2 25.6 32.0 38.4Ē - basically, service every 6400km after initial break-in/followup service at 1000km.

Yes indeed and it appears that Mr. Honda decided to use a simpler nominal kms x 0.6 = miles conversion factor, as compared to the actual 0.6214.
The difference is a mere nominal 3-1/2 % and not worth considering given the ease of Honda formula.

Yup, the way itís set up the operator just has to remember a nice round number - Ďevery 4000 milesí or Ďevery 6400kmí.
