Seeing Red

Ok, I don’t know where this came from or how it started, but all I can think about these days is RED. I have a ’02 asphalt 919 that I want to accent with red. Red break lines, red levers, red bar ends, maybe even pinstripes and whatever else I can think of to throw on there. Don’t get me wrong, I love the color of my bike, but I think this would look great! Some of my friends think this is a horrible idea, but I’m all for it.

So I just wanted to see what you guys thought before I start ordering parts. I’ve done a search for Levers and it seems that Pazzo’s are the way to go, but I didn’t find much on anything else. Also I know there are some creative minds among you, and I’m welcome to other ideas you may have on the subject. And if there are any of you that have done this already PLEASE post some pics!

Thanks!

They are just the vinyl stick on type. The guy I bought it from had done it and I just left them. If you look around for pics of xrmikey's bike, he did it with paint and some kind of wheel pinstripe kit. His looks way better than mine in person, even up close.

Cycle Gear has a taping kit that comes with a tool to help line it up on the wheel rim. Expensive for tape and a plastic dispenser, but so is tearing it back off each time you mess it up.

Hell, my friends thought I was a fool for even buying the 9er in the first place. Follow your vision-you will be proven right at the end of the day.

If you like red accents, go for red accents man! I chose black, black, black and carbon fiber, but I do like the look of a black and red bike. Also like black with gold accents, so whatever makes you happy, that's what you should do.

The red accents will automatically make your 9er faster than the ones without this special "go fast" color.
Red brake lines would be cool.

This picture doesn't show them very well, but I've got Rizoma bar ends in anodized red that look very nice, red accents in the grips as well.

I've got pazzo gold with red lever controls

Also not shown in this pic is a red anodized brake reservoir cap.

You could get a red anodized oil filler cap, same thing for the rear brake reservoir.

Phase one is complete! G&J break lines and some cheep levers I picked up off Ebay (Pazzo’s are in the future as soon as I get some more funds).

Still to come: Red GP Pegs, Bar ends, and reflective tape for wheels!

i thought those rims were a glossy powder coat also. mine didn't even look like that on the show room floor with 2 miles on the odometer.
