Satos

How do they sound??

Also, I saw on an older thread that you guys got a screamin deal on them by buying in bulk... I don't suppose that deal is still available?

That deal was for one week only, sorry you missed out.

If there is enough interest [10 definite] I might be able to run another one.

You guys give them about 3-4000 miles and then weigh in again about how they sound. They get LOUDER! Not obnoxious but definitely noticeable.

Oh yeah baby!!!

I agree razor. They aren't annoying loud. Real deep and real loud. Just how I like it. It doesn't really sound like anything else. At real high speed I think they sound like a really expensive european sports car. Lotus maybe...

Bought mine last year and have noticed a change as Razor has mentioned.
A "deeper" tone would be how I'd describe it.

The guys I usually ride with have made the same observation, BB.
We were riding in a group on a 4 lane road about a month ago and several of them commented about how when it was time to blast off all they could hear was the "919 dual wail". They said that it has it's own unique sound like no other bike. All I could say was "thanks" and "sweet"!

Oh, and Blackbetty, just noticed your sig - shouldn't that be "Bam-ba-lam"?

Razor, I am not exactly sure. It was spelled phoenetically (did I spell that right?). If that is it for sure, I will change it. I have never seen the actual lyrics to the song. I just think it is a badass song, especially for riding and I named my 9 "blackbetty". Somewhat cheesy, but whaddayagonnaduh?

BTW, absolute agreement on the sato tone.

That's pretty original. Very cool. That IS a badass old song. Ahh, the memories! Now that I'm really concentrating on it, the lyric may go
Ban-da-lam. Tried a search for the lyrics but not found yet. Now I'm curious. Really doesn't matter, I know, but for nostalgia sake!

And Evad, I never did quite understand how the packing gets blown out since it's held in with basically a metal plate with small holes. Does that stuff just disintegrate because of the exhaust chemicals or the heat or what? What is it up in there anyway, fiberglass insulation? Whatever it is, I like the change in sound!

I would be interested in knowing that too. In the meantime:

SPIDERBAIT LYRICS

Black Betty

Whoa, black betty (bam-ba-lam)
Whoa, black betty (bam-ba-lam)
Black betty had a child (bam-ba-lam)
The damn thing gone wild (bam-ba-lam)
She said, "i'm worryin' outta mind" (bam-ba-lam)
The damn thing gone blind (bam-ba-lam)
I said oh, black betty (bam-ba-lam)
Whoa, black betty (bam-ba-lam)

SATOs

I'd be interested in the Ti Satos when you do the next batch purchase. I'll try to keep my eyes on this forum

Yea, maybe we should get with Mike and create a new thread to see how much interest we can round up. Maybe if we cross reference it with some other bike forums we can order all models together and get a group rate that way? I dunno if we can pull it off or not with orders for Satos for different bikes...

Question Sato Cans

If and when there is another group buy count me in! Surely there are eight more of you out there who can do this deal. I'll be watching to see if it"s a go or not.
