Rode Her 919 to work today

With her permission of course. Decided to have a little fun playing thru gears and on power shifts the 1/2 lofts pretty good, the 2/3 comes up burt still easy to see the road, the 3/4 will just stretch suspension then shut down when I hit 5th. I slow down well before traffic and pull into the parking lot and park in the bike section, pull helmet gloves and tankbag, start to walk away and then get hit with a spot light.
Damn ass cop followed me into the parking lot without lights on and I did not even know it.

Would you like to guess what I get to tell the wife?

Hmmm... I'm guessing suspended license, maybe?

- or they want to impound the bike?

I got real lucky. When he hit me with the spot light I must have had the dreaded deer in the headlight look because he was grinning when I walked up to his door.
He just said it doesn't seem like fun no more does it followed by look at all the people looking at you now and the famous I guess you are wondering why I am here.
All I could say was Is it still Monday and hang my head followed by I guess this has something to do with my riding habits. He just said this is my one freebi and I should think about changing my riding habits. All of this is caught on security camera work and I have already gotten the warning that if a cop has to follow me to work that I might not be able to park in their lot. It did not look right for the company image.
You would not believe how fast gossip gets around here AND the wife will probably never hear of it.

Yah know I am thinking this thing ain't to bad for a "girlie bike". Low speed high gear roll ons it will take out the 1100 but I don't know if will hold up on top end. I think it would be close and no bias from me even tho it is but a lowly Honda. It is not hard to notice how nice it shifts compaired to the Kawi both up and down and seems like those at work are a little biased because they seem to like the "girlie bike" over my 1100 that I rode in yesterday.

Boss got a verbal about me so I got a little louder verbal than he did plas all the undo harrassment from coworkers towards the "innocent" guy which would be me.

This situation would have been soooo much more acceptable at my office.

Just to set the scene, our 4 most prolific riders sit atop a Speed Triple, KTM Adventure 990, SV1000s, and an oft abused 919.

There would have been many laughs.

Great story. Thanks for sharing. I need to tell this one to my wife. I'm kind of in the dog house right now. This will make me look MUCH better.

I admit I like to tell stories for fun even tho most are about 70 percent true the cop in the parking lot was not a story. I come into work today and somebody taped a set of cardboard handcuffs to the crib door.
I got lucky that it was a cop that was just letting me know that I am not that sneaky. I figured if I was lucky it would just be a ticket but I got real lucky. Never asked for ID or bike paperwork but this what looked like a 30 to 35 year old cop had to go and ask me my age (53) then shake his head and grin.
I wonder if he was a biker?

Kudos for getting her permission to ride the bike, and glad to hear all you got was a bright light in the face from the cop.
