Ride Idea

Hello fellow Naked WristTwisters,

I've received a few PMs about getting together and riding with a few individuals. I though I would just throw the idea out to have a Kentucky/Indiana, whoever wants to come ride. Kind of a last ride before the weather turns to crap thing.

If anyone is interested, just post here.

-Chris

I'd be interested in getting together for a ride. Just let me know when and where.

A black 919 and yellow 599 from Indianapolis would be interested if our schedule allows it.

No Date Set

What time frame are we looking at? I didn't post a date and thought we could collaborate on a date, meeting location, and route. I already have rides and other stuff planned this weekend and next, but will be free the 20th and on.

I am free pretty much any time after the MotoGP weekend. I am also good to go on any location.

Lets get serious with this guys! Make it an actual WT Ride/Event and make some real plans. I'll do what ever work needs done for this, (not like I'm real busy right now) just let me know what we need and I'll get on it.

We got in a 140 mile ride through southern Indiana today, figured it was the last time we'd see the leaves all green. Weather was cool already, in a few more weeks the leaves will turn, the temps will drop and it will be beautiful autumn riding time.

I can do any weekend after this coming weekend, which is MotoGP. Saturday meet and ride would be better than a Sunday if I had my preference. We should decide a place to meet for lunch.

I'm looking at Saturday the 20th as my best bet to go. Any plan on a route or meeting place? When this first came up, I was thinking of at least making a run on Indiana 62 and 66 between Hawesville and Louisville, but I hear cops are patrolling that road pretty heavily right now.

Yes they are. Some of the Louisville-Sportbikes.com guys run it quite a bit and it's being watched. I think they said east of Leavenworth. The last time I was thru there a sheriff followed some of us all the way to Culvers parking lot in Corydon, IN.

Anyway, we could meet somewhere, do an early lunch, ride for a little bit and then split back off. The 20th is okay we me I think, although it's my anniversary.

Most annoying feeling ever is being tailed by a cop on a 35 MPH road that is fairly straight. I just feel like I should get off and push.

So it's Sat, Sept 20?

Just a suggestion..... Have about 3 "secondary" meeting places. Lets say, Rocky Point, The Marathon in St Meinrad, and The Gables in Bedford around 9:30. Everyone call and "check in" with another member to confirm they're on the way. That way, no one gets left behind if they miscalculated travel time. Have the final meeting place at 62 and 135 in Corydon around 10:30am. News to me that Law Enforcement is on 62, but nothing surprises me anymore. Might be a goood opertunity to go on some lesser traveled roads. We could go thru Milltown, show `em Tunnel Hill, the Shoe Tree, maybe Hemlock Cliffs. Go along the river thru Alton. I wonder if the little eat em up joint in Magnet is still open?

Sound good?

Rocky Point? Is that in Evansville? I'm in Owensboro so if anyone is heading East toward Louisville, I can meet you on either side of the river, just let me know when and where. I can slab it to a meeting location if needed.

Well it sounds like this is more south than I anticipated, I will need to leave on Friday. Scott, are you up for an over night trip? Maybe head down there Friday afternoon? that way the long trip there and riding all day can be split up?

Would anyone be interested in going to Brown County?

We would probably be more into a day trip, have been out of town for several weekends in a row recently. Saturday Sept. 20 could work for us at this point.

Ripper, I'll also extend the invitation to crash at our house if you don't want to ride back home that same day, we have a spare bedroom, just be warned that we also have three cats.

We rode through Brown County yesterday afternoon, and frequently ride the area south of Bloomington. Would happily go that direction again though, it's beautiful country.

That would be great, I appreciate it! Be warned that I snore like a lumber jack! Or so my wife tells me? I never hear it so I can't confirm it myself... Also, you'd let a Republican in your house? What if I see the secrete plans to take over the country that every liberal has hidden somewhere? LOL... Just kidding!

Rocky Point..... take K 60 to Hawsville. Cross bridge into Indiana. Turn R at stoplight. That's Indiana SR66. Go past Locks and Dam, 1 mile. Come to stop sign. That's Rocky Point. About all that is there is a gas station/ convience mart/ restaurant and a Yamaha boat shop. Go to gas station.

St Meinrad is on SR 62, 4 miles east of 162 S. 162 S will take you to Holiday World. Don't go south, you don't want to go to Holiday world. Go EAST on SR62.

Gables is on the south side of Bedford on SR37.

Corydon, gas station across from John Deere dealership.

Sounds like a plan.

Sniper. I'll join up with you at Rocky Point on the other side of Canelton. If anyone is coming from further west, let me know and I can hop across the bridge and meet you near Reo on 66.

We still going to do this? I just checked the weather (after 2 days without power or internet) and it is supposed to be 82 and mostly sunny on Saturday.
