Red ring around rim of 919

Hey guys Iv looked everywhere but cant seem to find any information on how to go about installing / painting / sticking a red circle around each of my 919's rim. I saw a few on here and I really enjoy the look and was hoping to get in on my bike.

Thanks for any help.
Kind Regards
James Woods

Your think says you are in Australia, but you are asking about people in Florida? Why is that? What you have been seen is called rim stripes and they are fairly easy to find online and ebay or a local shop can order you some.

All you do is clean and dry the lip of the rim and then apply they have adhesive on the backing.

Now please take the time to post over in our Introductions section.

I got them in gold to match calipers etc. Have not applied them yet. It takes about 8 or so indificual decals go around each side of the wheel. To get them to lie correctly does not appear to be a 2 minute job.

I'll come down and we can make a long loop on the yacht.

Just so you know, XRMikey in Cali. bought a rim stripping paint kit. It paints the stripe on instead of tape. Another option if you want to paint some wheels for profit in your spare time floating around on the water.

When I apply vinyl graphics to things, I usually clean the surface, I use denatured alcohol on glass, then use a spray bottle with a soapy water solution to spray down the area. Then I'll apply the decal(s). The soapy water allows me to move it into place then use a credit card or bondo knife to press it down and squeeze out the soapy water solution. Start in the center for large graphics. This may also work for the rim decals but I haven't tried it.

That's exactly how you apply the reflective wheel decals.

I bought the reflective decals off e-bay (dark red) and they look awsome on the bike. I am at work and cannot upload photos at the moment but I'll try to do so in the next 24hrs.

If you're looking for more options, Tapeworks.com has done some excellent custom rimstriping for folks I know. Pick your color, width, add in graphics if you want, etc.
