RECOVERY

the broward sherifffs dept called today... they forced a speeding cbr1000rr to stop and lo and behold it was the one that was stolen from me in july... now it belongs to state farm but i am very happy to know that someone who deserves it will be spending some time as a guest of the state... its a shame... i really loved that bike... it was a 2007 model with 3200 miles when they took it.....

Good - glad you had insurance to cover that, too. I would not want a returned car/bike under most circumstances. I would be wigged about the way it was treated while it was gone and I'm assuming it'd show the thrashing, too.

For a second there, I thought it was one of the bikes that got stolen from Rick Case. I admit, when my sister told me they stole 1000RRs, 600RRs, and 919s, I was kinda proud... lol

Its a nice feeling to have closure, if not returned... a few yrs back I was the recipient of a break-in/ theft. Lost a few things... filed it with insurance. 11 months later I found my Binelli super 90 in a pawn shop in downtown Winston-Salem. It had the same mods - I recognized! I got closure!!

I might do that the next time I go down. I'm just waiting for that 43t sprocket. I wouldn't want to ride down at 7k rpm the whole way down. ...maybe I'll get the valves adjusted at the dealership, too.

yeah we had to move all the bikes from the parking garage.. they were cutting the fence then somehow taking the bikes down the elevator and out a couple doors.... either that or they were somehow lowering them by rope or cable... i am betting on the elevator... now everything is jammed together and locked with multiple locks and cameras everywhere... its getting hard to find a hiding place with out a camera view...lol

Speaking of stealing things, our company has a huge stock pile of solid copper bars that we use in our processing. A couple of years ago they started disappearing left and right. These bars weight several hundred pounds each! Finally, they fenced off the entire storage area, then fenced off the copper room with barbed wire at the top and lock all gates unless someone is working in there.

If people would put the thought and effort into actually working for a living instead of stealing other people's things, they would be money ahead.

That's pretty dumb of him to ride around on a stolen bike. I thought most criminals part it out to make some money.

It hurts to have a bike stolen, regardless of closure.

I had an 01 ZX7R get stolen twice while I was in California on an Army training trip. The SOB wrecked it bad the second time, but they were nice enough to leave it back in my yard on its side. Both wheels and everything in between were destroyed.

My happy thought: Whoever wrecked it to do that much damage could not have walked away untouched.

most of the time it is parted out or because of our proximity to the islands, it is on a boat heading for bimini or the bahamas or jamaica.. sometimes tho they just drive them because the cops rarely stop a sportbike.... cause sportbikes rarely stop... i guess the planets lined up just right and they were able to stop him... cause from what i have heard he was runnin....lol.... hope he catches one in the butt tonight in the shower...lol

Glad they found it, it id definatly not uncommon for the bikes in maimi to stay whole, as stated above, they are rarely pulled over.
