Project 954 update

It's been awhile, lots of family issues to deal with have kept me from the project. After dealing a a couple of setbacks on the project I finally had a chance to work on the speedo mount. Exhaustive search of the internet produced zero results. Found plenty for other models but no 954. And they were all well over $100. So, like all good wristtwisters I decided to make my own. After making a very crude sample in the garage I visited the guys at Precision Race Cars. Attached are photos of what we came up with.

I am giving serious consideration to marketing these as I have discovered that with minor mods I can make them for other Honda models.

Lookin' good to me. What headlight are you thinking of? The 599 or Dominator setups are hard to beat as far as aesthetics. I understand the 599 is quite functional as well, but have heard nothing of the Dominator.

IT LIVES!!

Finally, after much aggravation the cbr954 project is alive. Had it cranked up this morning, what a sweet sound. The bike had been sitting in a warehouse for almost 7 yrs. Next on thelist is to tidy up the wiring, install the brakes, put some lights on it and a tag mount. hope to be on the road in a couple of weeks.

will post updated pics soon.

well, the front wheel is being straightened as we speak. should have it back in a few days. started on the wiringyou can see in the photo. I'm going with an 8" headlight from flyncycle. haven't decided on a windscreen yet. soon as i get the bike inspected i'm going to cut that 6 foot long can down to a respectable size.

Looking good. Keep us posted on the progress. How far are you from Sandy Springs?

had the 954 out on the road for the first time a couple of weeks ago. been too cold since then to do anything. brakes are a little sticky so i have ordered parts to rebuild the calipers. still haven't made up my mind about the handlebars or the paint. i have decided to take my extra swingarm and have it powdercoated to match the frame. may eventually try my hand at fabricating some covers for the air intakes. definitely going to have to find a cowl for the rear seat. she runs and sounds great.

I'm about 25 miles southwest of Sandy Springs. Just off exit 36 of I-20.

I always liked that two tone grey of the '03.

That bike needs either an LSL superbike kit or you can drill the upper triple to install you own 7/8 bar holders......

Great job! The bike looks mean all black and gray!!

If you're interested in a Speigler/LSL top clamp, I have a brand new one that went unused on my front end swap. I'm letting it go cheap: https://www.wristtwisters.com/f86/lsl...tml#post425145
