Here you go bud. All you need to do is plumb it up and go to town.

Make sure you get it dyno'd before and after!!

Yeah It's a great bike but a little more power would be nice.
We've discussed it a bunch of times before, try the search. The end result is always the same - it's too cost prohibitive.

has any heard of putting CBR 900 carbs on the 9er. I really have no clue if that bikes fuel injected or carberated. but i figured if its FI then it shouldn't be toooo hard.

Use a dry shot for a quick 20-30 hp. That's your best bet.

i have the world's quickest 919, due to a wet shot.

this year, out of the blue, i started melting spark plugs. no pinging/knocking heard: just all of a sudden loses the cylinder.

my engine will be coming apart this winter for a big bore, and a bigger shot of nitrous.

10.26 @134 so far.

i think you'd have to be setup to do tubing fab/welding to make a turbo "affordable", whatever THAT means.

yeah i know what you mean about "affordable" basically just do the work your self. I always try and steer clear of the dealerships doing anything for me.

and bucky do you have a list of your mods posted anywhere?

i don't. wet nitrous and a header are the only meaningful engine mods, but with PCIII, Ignition module, quickshift.

single front disc, some titanium fasteners, coerce low bar, 520 racechain with 46 tooth rear, lockup clutch, slight intake mod.

i'm all over the place. shift close to redline OFF nitrous, around 8500-9000 on the juice.

i was BOGGING off the line earlier in the year. tried some 7000 rpm launches more recently and didn't really gain anything.

there are 2 big bore kits (949cc & 970cc, JE or Wiseco)

you can swap cams for a little more top end umpf but you'll give something up to do it...

these mods are not minor and cost can approach the dollar amount of your investment to purchase the bike in the first place (big bore, not cams...which run around $1000 to get done&in)

much of the internals in the 919 were swapped to lower cost options because the power output requirements allowed. you'll be replacing all of these if you go w/ the larger of the 2 big bore options

some minor porting, deck it, use that cometic gasket and you'll get a little something

best bang for your buck, 15/45 gearing and try to run WOT in 1st...good luck

which brings me to, you want more power? adjust the position of your hand upward a bit when you intially grip the throttle, each twist will offer more than your standard horizontal wrist position.

out of curiousity...just when/where do you think you'd like a little more "power" ???

i ask cause i'm pretty sure i didn't notice any 'power' issues coming down the Garden State Parkway w/ a Turbo Kawi on my tail...maybe I'm wrong, you could ask the guy on the Turbo if my 9r seemed 'lacking' at any time.

point being, in most cases i've seen, it's the rider not the bike...just sayin is all.

I dunno man. My buddy said he saw a 919 on the 1/4 mile track a couple weeks back run a 9.2. He didn't talk to him to see what was done, but saw the board and beat a CBR1000RR that ran a 10.1.

i've been asking around for 3 years: "my buddy said" is the best i've gotten so far.

what track? any details?
9.2 in this bike (any bike , really) means upward of 200 hp, means turbo.
means $10k for a custom engineered and fabbed kit.

means there's somebody stupider than me !

but maybe quicker too...

doubtful

but then again, there are many many 919 owners that do not frequent the well known 9r forums...mostly cause they don't care as i understand it from a few

still, without posting a copy of a timeslip, all else is b.s.

i too looked at power adders for my 9er.... for my budget... i like the echo backpack leaf blower and a roll of duct tape. I see no one thinks the 919 can run in the 9's trust me im with them... but the hardest ive had to try in a light to light race was against a jeep srt8 which is AWD and supercharged but i smoked him and thats fast enough for me... just dont be sleeping at the light when one pulls up next to your 9er. They aint slow.

Look out

those jeeps go 0-60 in the 4's bone stock. I have heard our 9er's will do it in 2.8. So a supercharged Grand Cherokee SRT-8 would prolly stay real close.

bleh-bleh-bleh!!!

Talk is cheap fellas, and the only one I see posting time slips is Bucky!

I've run my fair share of 1000RR, GSXR and R1's. Not bragging but out of the hole and for the better part of the Quarter I can stay out in front of them. The low end that the 919 has is great and I also find short shifting to help. Once the higher speeds come into play with wind resistance, gearing and the fact that the 919 runs out'a the hard pulling steam on the top end they end up reeling me in. I'm still running stock gearing... Most of the guys around here with the liter sport bikes dropped there jaws once they seen what a little 9'er could do. "What the Hell is that thing?" is what I hear a lot. If they fail to pull a good light I'll get them in the full quarter. I also think, like many others that it is the rider more than it is the machine. Tooting my own horn again... I also have yet to make it to the track and have no time slips to show, so for all you know I'm just blowing smoke up your asses!!! ???

just for the record.. i am and was a certified (that means i went to school) jeep and chrysler salesman.. b4 i started selling hondas.. the jeep srt8 has a 6.1 liter 425 horse hemi.. it is awd and it is not supercharged... unless someone did it themselves.. it is capable of 0-60 in about 4 seconds maybe a tick over.. it will run the quarter in 13 flat maybe dip in the high 12's with a good driver.. it is a formidable vehicle that gets 10 mpg downhill with a hard tailwind.. drove one for a week as a demo.. couldnt afford gas so i got the one i am driving now with the 305 horse 4.7 liter...

and b4 someone says the 4.7 doesnt have that much horsepressure.. it does .. in 2007 the 4.7 had 235 horses.. they redid most of the electronics and fuel injection and found 70 !!??!! more.. the 5.7 liter hemi makes approx 330-335 horses but get poop for mileage 12-15... mary gets a constant 16-18 from ours with her mostly highway driving.. i get considerably worse mileage.. i think it has something to do with weight of right foot

Been through this already. the engine would mount but the carbs and the head are down draft setup and would hit the frame. ...........Find alocal guy to port your head ( read a guy who can weld and grind maximzing flow and swirl) get some 12:1 pistons good H-beam rods send yur cams to mega cycle cams for a wild regrind a PCIII power commander a good 4 into 1 header and pipe .

Hey, zx10r motor. May as well go all the way. A 2004 like mine. 180 crank hp, you'd be the bees knees til you spun the swingarm up around your chonies.
