Where was it at, I didn't even pay that much attention. I've also been working so much lately I probably wouldn't have been able to go anyway.

She was trying to show me her new $2500 wide angle lens. She added the pic with the rose because I wanted to post it on the Pashnit forums, they like flower and bike shots over there.

Not to derail, but as I do some photography... that is the weakest "wideangle" I've seen as far as wide angles go. What is that shot at? 30mm?

Don't know, my mom took em. I'll have to ask her. I was inside scanning pictures.

I'd really be interested in what lens it is. It's wideangle, but hardly. I must know! Ha.

I'm not crapping on anything here, just curious.

PS, your bike is really clean. I cleaned my bike a few years ago, it looked pretty good.

Not really, but fair enough. I was just having a bit of fun with you, and as the picture indicated - to stir the pot a little. Maybe it's wishing I was in Tampa like you because I rode into work this morning and the temp was 28 degrees.

Camera is a Canon EOS 30 D

The lens is actually a telephoto zoom lens, now that I have the info on it. I'll have to make sure and tell my mom she didn't get a wide angle lens like she thought.

L-series super telephoto zoom lens equipped with an Image Stabilizer. The fluorite and Super UD-glass elements largely eliminate secondary spectrum. The floating system also ensures high picture quality at all focal lengths. The Image Stabilizer has two modes and it is compatible with Extenders 1.4x II and 2x II.

ranges in price from $1400 - $1700.

Yeah, that lens is very unwideangle. I have that lens, doesn't have much value close up. Good for shots like this though:

What the heck does your mom do to justify a 30D and a 100-400mm L lens?

Only reason I have one is because it cost me $450. Otherwise I couldn't justify it myself, and I make money off my pics.

Tell her to back up from the bike and she'll get an amazing shot with that lens. Also to check the ISO setting, might be the JPG but it looks a little grainy.

Megapixels have very little bearing on a good picture when it comes to professional series cameras like that. Good lenses do, and she has it.

I could get a better picture with my 85mm F1.4 lens on my old school 3MP Canon D30 than a new point and shoot camera with 9.1 MP.

Clean my ass!!! look at the tank in the 2nd picture. There's dirt all over it. And I told her to stay away from the dirty parts as much as possible The dealership cleaned it for me when they did the oil change a week before the pics were taken. Rode about 500 miles between those days, so I guess I have about that much dirt on it. The undertail looks like ****.

I rode a couple days ago and it was in the 40's. It's been fairly cool here in the mornings.

I know you were playing, just playing back

Yeah, I talked to her again after looking at canons site and she said she gave me the wrong numbers. You are correct with it being the 20D wide angle lens.

Is that the identifying mark? I'm not a pro carpenter but I did some finish work for a neighbor in their kitchen for money...

I'm assuming by the quotes you put around "professional" that you're trying to make a mockery of what I know and do. If so, piss off. While I'm up, I am aware of exif information too, I'm special.

Sorry Ron.

Obviously the smiley was lost on you Rags. And I have no idea what you know or do, so no mockery intended.

Hey Ron, get your mom to get some pics of you moving on that bike. That's a great lens to do it with. The bike looks good.

jesus, I have a 89 dollar polaroid digital camera that doesn't even have optical zoom.

you guys really need to invest some time into the thing called LIFE.

I am evidently pleasantly unaware, those pictures look to me same same as ones taken with a 100 dollar camera. But I know NOTHING about photography, and im pretty happy that way.

now I know how my wife feels when I start telling her about the vaccum advance on the distributor on my 300/6 needing to be set at 12 degrees so the ignition doesn't break down at 3000 rpm.

I get the blank stare and a "thats nice dear".

I think I might see a spec of dirt on the tank not sure. Could just be a sparkle or a gleam from an extremely clean bike that is reflecting something a little brown in color.

Pics look good though, and yes Ragdoll, so does yours.
