performance wise?

How does the 06 919 accelerates compared to lets say

the supersport 600 class and 900

I had a 2000 R6 (but i was 60 lbs lighter as a rider) and it seems to me that the R6 had a better acceleration? What is its top speed too? Im older and more responsible now, but still curious!

I also tried my buddy ZX-9R 2000 and as i remember it, it was way more powerful, pulling wheelies in 2nd just with throttle.

Just want a couple pointers where our bike is performance wise.

Thanks

Miguel

Problem with the "Butt Dyno" is that smooth power feels weak.
If the power put down is "Peak-ish" is certainly feels stronger, but not the case. A good example is the 2000 F4 vs the 2001 F4i.

The F4 feels more lively (I am sure some are smoother that my experience), but simply because the power was inconsistant coming on. The R6 from my memory - has similar issues if it is not perfect.

The 919 will pull an indicated ~150mph. It has way more low end oomph than the 600 crowd, but it suffers in top end power and weight. You really can't compare the two, it's apples and oranges.

As for the big bike crowd, they mostly just walk away from the 919, but it's another apples to oranges comparison.

The 919 has smooooooth power all the way to redline. It isn't pee-your-pants fast, but it's no slouch either. Trust me, top speed is more than you want on a plastic free bike.

I can honestly ride my 919 in 6th gear going 25mph and the motor doesn't stumble at all. It's super smooth.

The roll on times is where the 919 will crush an R6. For around town the torque and ergonomics make it a much better bike.

I may just be stating the obvious.

One of the mags has a page full of 1/4 mile times that they publish every month motorcyclist or cycle world, But I think the CBR600RR is quicker than ours but not by much!

When low on fuel, my 919 will power wheelie on level pavement in second gear.

Those old ZX 9R's made damn good power. That bike was way underrated.

ZX9R made 125 horses, 67.5 lbs torque, 10.7 in the 1/4. 2.98 seconds for a 60-80 top gear roll on. It had decent ergos. At 472 pounds wet, it was a little on the porky side for the competition it was up against.

I've always had a soft spot those things. Would love to ride one sometime.

Wow! The niner performs almost as well as the S3. That's suprising considering the amount of torque the S3 has.
I would imagine though, the S3 is a little trickier at launch.

I like the acceleration from a dead stop the 9er has. It blows most 600s off the line, and can hang with the peakier liter bikes off the line.
Once they get their revs up though, its a new ballgame that the 9er just isn't setup to play in.
