PCIII and CPU not talking
I just did the bafflectomy and was going to try some different maps out, but my computer is reading my PCIII. I have windows vista and got the new downloads from the website, but still got nothing. This sucks. Any suggestions?

When was the last time it worked? What have you done differently since? I am assuming you used it With Vista before and not XP. Make sure the usb on the pcIII is all the way in. check the usb port by plugging the cable into another device that uses the same type connector e.g. digital camera/video camera or printer. You should see the device show up in the tool tray(XP) and possibly an audio signal telling you its hooked up. I am assuming you start the program first, plug it up to the pcIII and then turn the ignition to the on position.
Thas about all I can think of right now...
Good luck!!

There are two thing I have done differently. Rode 5 hours in the rain and I used to use it with XP. I didn't notice any change in the bike during my ride at all. The USB port works. I plug my digital camera into it. I will try the order of connection. Hopefully it works.

You need to lighten the atmosphere, make the surroundings a bit less formal. Perhaps a bit of Chardonay and some easy listening music will help.

I could try singing to it as well.

Are you sure you pushed the cable contact all the way into the pc3? It's very tight and initially threw me off with the same question.

Yeah. I pushed it in there pretty darn hard. I am sure it was connected all the way.

Is the PC3 fully functional otherwise? (EG Did you make great contact with the PC3's wires?) Can you move the ranges around with the PC3 buttons?
Does the PCIII have power?
A 9v battery if it is out of the bike or turn the key on if it's in the bike?

Connection is in there good. Tried the startup order, still no joy. I can't find my manual and don't remember how to use the buttons on the front. Never used them that much to begin with. When I disconnect it and reconnect it to my computer, it makes a sound so I know it detects it. For some reason it won't talk with the software.

I'm guessing its a vista driver problem. Know anyone close who has XP? I'm still running XP on both my laptop and home computer.

I will have to check. Don't really know that many people down here. I should have thought of that.

are you using the Dynojet provided usb cable?
the last time I installed a PC3usb (about 8 months ago on a 1000RR) the USB cable was garbage. Replaced it with a new one and everything worked fine.

If you don't find someone close to you let me know. You can come up here on the weekend or something and we can try my laptop.
