Under mods there's a link to a number of PCIII maps.

everyones gonna tell you get a custom map its the only way blah blah blah, brace yourself.

although I agree on a certain level, for the street you should be fine tinkering with a few free ones. I have a k&n filter, rr header with a yosh pipe and have been runnin a map I found a few years back for a k&n and 2 brothers set up. havent had it dynoed but it runs like a raped ape. and it didnt cost 300 bucks.

if memory serves, it seems like the inclusion or not of a PCIII might mean a COUPLE horsepower at MOST. mostly it appears to offer better fueling, if you feel that you're not "carbureting" smoothly.

and it also seems that a filter/header/pcIII MIGHT mean 6 h.p. , so "raped ape" might be a bit strong. especially if you know an ape who's been raped. it hits a bit too close to home for them.

i prefer to say, "sexually abused simian"

I've had good luck with the Two Brothers Dual Slip on's map..... listed on the Power Commander web-site.

Its a good map for any set of pipes that offers better 'uncorked' flow.....

dood Im fo real its puttin at least 170 to the wheel.
The whole point was I feel a custom map on a 100hp street ride is a waste of a decent amount of cha ching.

Maybe i should clear it up for the ball busters (I'm one too)

In stock form I found the 9er a tad disappointing as I came off a busa and yes I knew it wasnt gonna be even ball park as far as raw acceleration but it just felt, flat.

after the listed "mods" I feel the throttle response is much "snappier" and the top end "pull" fells alot "stronger" this I'm sure has just as much to do with acually hearing the exhaust note now as it does with the extra 6hp. So in comparision to a stock 9er with an average rider my "modded" 9er along with my exceptional riding skills certainly runs like a raped ape..... My butt dyno dont lie man.

"I'm sure has just as much to do with acually hearing the exhaust note "
brian, THAT is it really.
we're men, but that means that we are first and foremost boys.
(okay, there's a few women folk in here too. stop interrupting me)

i know MY bicycle was the fastest in the neighborhood once i clothespinned a playing card off the frame and into the spokes.

putting a set of zorsts on a m/c is really just the more expensive version of that, and really as long as our ears and perceptions are taken care of, the actual power output, dare i say, matters less.

it is true, shocked me also. It was a younger guy so I'm refering back to my superb riding skills, you gotta spin those little 6's to make 'em move. Not sure if he knew what was going on. But I got him 3 times, 2 from a roll on and once from a light.

On a side note I got this chic coming over and I can't stop farting, any quick fix for that?

Real quick....

accidentally get tabasco up her nose so she can't smell.

or

don't be there when she shows up. your average chick simply doesn't appreciate the male multimedia art forms.

(i presume you and i were both involved in the deteriorating 919 vs 600 thread. if you recall, my point was basically "good riding, because it wasn't the bike")

my friend tells me they no longer snake a long wooden qtip up your urethra for chlamydia testing. sounds like my promiscuity was active in the wrong decade. i think i still have a splinter...

(i misspelled it too, but really only to make a juvenile joke. like i make any other kind)

This is where I step in and attempt to re-rail the thread. However if the rest of you feel the need to continue your psuedo-juvenalia-intelligencia-whatever, feel free to step right over me. Everyone else does.

What a pc might do, is reduce the stink and make it idle better. It irons out the hyper twitch of the emissions coding. I think.

lemon, NOTHING about my juvenility is pseudo.
but that's fine. i won't step over that.

also, i'm intelligent. you can't tell most of the time, but really ! i am ! don't be angry.

however, many would disagree with your take on what pcIIIs do. many who know. many who are intelligent without the pseudo. when you look at a proper map, you'll see that the fueling amounts are DRASTICALLY different from stock all over the map. not just at idle, not just in the "stink zone".

i contest that PCIIIs (when mapped properly) give you 2 horsepower, give smoother throttle response, and in SOME cases help with "the stink".

i've never heard of a single 919 that wasn't otherwise broken that had an idle problem or needed help with their idle.

oh yeah, and PCIIIs give you the ability to control ignition timing, take care of boost-related needs, incorporate a quickshift, give you the option of data-logging and having "a/b maps" and a few other nice little features. i think you can also get a gear-position indicator on the LCD panel too.

Well, I can tell you all that the pc3 went on first and I noticed quite a big difference in throttle responce. The bike ran alot stronger in the mid-range(5000-7000rpm).Last weekend the loevince pipes went on,now it sounds fast too. What I notice most besides the db's is the stink is gone.Really.The map the pc3 came with is a big improvement,I will try the two brothers M112-003 map and report back.If anyone cares I will post some pictures....

i'm having fun too. within my crap, i try to impart actual experience and knowledge. in the course of my mods, i've learned a fair amount about the bike and the aftermarket support therein. i think i have one of few: 8" stretch swingarms, 13 ounce lightened rear rotors, wet nitrous 919s in the world, and i coerced Dynojet to make ignition modules for our bikes. according to Kyle at the time, i was also first with 900rr pair valve blockoffs on a 919. little things, but again, lots of learning.
having built my current motor from new cases-up also gives me some additional perspective re: 919s. or 945s, as the case may be.

yes, i can be annoying. but if you can get past that, i've got some info which MAY help. or may not. eh. whatev.

I HEAR DAT !! nobody wants a bike-cam shot of a stretched 919 pulling a 3rd gear power wheelie more than i want to make one !

but the first time(s) i take it out with my new setup i will NOT be filming. having that damn camera on top of my tank costs me a lot of concentration and a couple tenths. as i'm about to pull the trigger on what i hope will be my hairiest motorcycle ride ever, i don't want even small distractions.
