PC III Fuel +/- Meter Question

Hey folks,

I installed a Power Commander III USB on my 919 last week and I noticed the Fuel +/- LED meter on the box doesn't hit the top LED when at full throttle. I hooked my laptop to it and the software says it's getting 100% throttle. Does anyone else have this problem? The PC III bootup sequence shows the LED works, but it doesn't light up during normal operation...

Thanks

Michael Reyes

Clear your throttle position to be sure but mine does not go to the top either. It kind of bounces back & forth between the 2nd & third I think.

I haven't had a chance to play with it much. I was a little confused with the values, so I disabled it.

I'm an advocate of squeezing out power with a good ratio to mpg... I'm still testing out my first tank of gas with the "Two Brothers Full Exhaust" map.

The light limit is normal. It is stopping right where it should.
As long as your laptop says 100%, your good.

Try 85% sensitivity 5% richer, 20 revs. see how you like it.

Any map.
The accelerator feature is separate from the map itself.
It won't change as you change maps.

FYI, I like the Erion honda map(Attachment 8099).
I have a custom map for my bike, but I do like to play with this one.

This is mine if you would like to try it. Attachment 8100

After a tank of gas, I can easily say the M112-004 map (Two Brothers Full Exhaust) and Accelerator Pump off gave me an extra 3 mpg...with a potential of 5-6 mpg. Stock, I normally got 43mpg with the 900rr exhaust. With the PC III and M112-004 map, I got 46 mpg even with a bit more "spirited" acceleration testing, hence the potential 5-6 mpg gain.

I'm going to try to xrmikey's recommendations...exciting!

I set up with xrmikey's accelerator pump settings and map. I love it. xrmikey, what was your focus with this map? Compared to the Two Brothers map I was using, xrmikey's map keeps the power coming all the way to redline. It's a fantastic upgrade. Two thumbs up.

I have a 15/45t setup right now. I have the 17t sitting and I'm stilling waiting on the AFAM 43t sprocket. Dan Kyle didn't have any in stock, so they drop-shipped one directly from their distributor. I hope to get it sometime this week.

I don't wheelie, but with the 15/45t setup, it feels like there is wheelie potential even in third gear...WHAT?

The focus was to get a straight line 13:1 ratio out the pipes.
That is more important than max horsepower #'s.
The dyno ratio line was about as straight as the tuner has ever seen.(On my bike. Every bike is a little different).
That translates into what you experienced. Ride ability, smooth throttle response & good all around power.

I'm running the stock gearing 15/43 and I'm not too into wheelies either. However, I know that I can pull the front tire off just by cracking open the throttle in 1st and second. Also, when people tick me off and I want to get around them, it will keep the front end floating about a foot off the ground in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

damn ... how much you weigh?? and if it is anywhere around the 230 i weigh tell me what map your using on your pc3... mine lifts me in 1st.. and occasionally if i shift juuuuusssstt right it will come up a bit in 2nd... getting the front wheel up in 3rd would involve either a: a curb or b: stray dog or cat....

My guess he is in the 150-160 range.
If he is running 15-43 (one down from stock in the front) that would explain it.
But for you guys over 230, there is no map that is gonna make explosive horsepower.
The best a PCIII will make is about 5hp, on a good day, if even that.
They are more for ride ability & proper tuning (maximizing hp from a motor) after doing modifications. But not to Make, Horsepower.

Heh, I can't believe my sister made barton pose for a picture to send me.

(The picture isn't re-sized for effect)

Anyway, I got my package from Dan Kyle. I opened the package to see another SCC Tech sprocket. It was quite comical. I called up Mike Wheeler (Lord Duckhunter) and he was just as bothered as I was. He told the person who ordered the drop-shipment from Drive Systems to make sure it was an AFAM. Oh well, I sent it back and I ordered an OEM 43t from my sister. ...Apparently, no one carries steel AFAM counter sprockets for 3 years now.

Sorry I haven't checked this thread in a while. I took off the front sprocket cover and it is a 16 tooth. Thanks for the correction.

I weight about 185. I just ride it like I stole it and hand her up wet. Guys who pull out in front of you and almost side swipe you with the boat they are pulling behind their hummer somehow lead to wide open blasts past them. I don't like hanging out around idiots that can't drive.

I had a chance to ride a 919 with Sato's and a PC3. It was definitely more responsive than my bone stock w/flapper mod bike. More powerful? Don't know. Didn't want to wreck a fellow WristTwisters bike.
