PAIR system, what does thing thingy do?

As the title says, what does it do and will it do me any good to remove it?

I'm sitting here sick as a dog and there isn't anything decent on tv. I just sat sat here thinking of these oddball things.

If there is a sticky aboot it somewhere, please point me in that direction.

I'm out of it, too tired to use the search function. I'll check back after my 4th nap of the day.

It injects fresh air into the headers on decel. The fresh air hits the hot headpipe & ignites any unburnt fuel still left over from the combustion process.

Disabling the system, does not offer any performance advantages, but it does help alleviate that popping noise you hear from the exhaust on deceleration and if you remove the entire PAIR system it cleans up the area under the tank and saves a small amount of weight (usually 1lb or less)

Even though I never actually use them I do sell those PAIR block off plates for the 919 btw.

The block off plates just make the removal easier as you just put them in place of the OEM pair valve plates...If you don't use the block off plates then you generally just plug up the whole on the OEM plates with something like J.B weld

Because I am lazy... I throw away the solenoid & rubber hoses & then just cap off the nipple.

The very first time I went to take the PAIR cover off my RC51 the damn little bolt was frozen in place and it snapped right off which meant I had to drill it out and then heli-coil it etc and that turned me off to the whole PAIR valve replacement mod. I mean I have installed 50+ sets of them for customers & I know hundreds of guys that have installed them as well without any problem, but for my own bikes I just take the easy route.
