Painted! airbox cover and radiator accents

i finished painting my airbox covers and radiator accent things to match my red levers. it didn't come out how i liked but thats ok. i picked up my levers off ebay for $25 they are red anodized, but i don't think they are really anodized since they were so cheap but it looks fine. i decided to paint the covers using duplicolor metallicast. its supposed to give an anodized look when sprayed over a chrome-like finish. since the side covers aren't chrome i laid down a couple coats of "chrome" spray paint then put down the red metallicast. it doesn't look as metallic as real anodized but i didnt feel like sending them out to get chrome plated first or even anodized. here are a few photos. the rear grab bar will probably be painted next.

Nice accents - Now you need some steel braided brake lines with red covers.

I will hopefully soon be painting mine. How did you prep the metal side covers?

It almost makes me sad that was just about the exact same thing i was thinking, only that I have the asphault. But I too was going with red as an accent. Did you get the levers from an ebay store or just a random seller?

Thanks, I ordered the ones you mentioned in the second link I think prior to your post. Unfortunately they didn't end up shipping them until Monday. Oh well thanks for the tips on the paint stuff.
