Opinions On...

What do you think? I'm thinking about losing the 919 at the bottom and just sticking with the hornet alone. Also, do you think the wings stand out too much being bright white?

+1 Loose the 919 text. Wonder what the white part of the wings would look if they were clear?

Looks good! but I agree, lose the 919 text (and the Honda sticker) and just leave the hornet there by himself.

With the wings being white it should look the same on any color bike, but with clear wings if you put it on a red, green or black bike the wings may look a bit odd.

It could easily be added or removed for those who want it and those who don't. Omaha sent over the artwork for the color version, so this decal could be available in multiple colors, grayscale, with or without text, etc. The guy I'm looking at sells sheets of vinyl graphics that are printed on clear vinyl. We could sell them by the sheet and have a couple large (4 inch) decals and several of the smaller (2.5 inch) decals all on one page for a low price. They would be pre-cut and printed using an ink which can be clear coated over if needed.

Here are some pictures without text and without the Honda decal. I

They both look really cool. Great work to everyone involved. Is the "Honda" part of the decal or what is already on the bike?

I'm a less-is-more kind of guy; IMHO it looks best with the hornet alone, no 919 or Honda.

Meh, I like it with some kind of text, maybe hornet. Otherwise its just a bug sticker. Who is going to understand that?

Personally, I like the Hornet and "919". Not for any aesthetic reason, but just because that's what I call the bike.

Then again, my 919 has no decals whatsoever courtesy of the previous owner.

I had the same thought as sugs. Can we see the 'bug' + "919" with no "Honda"?

Maybe just an outline of the wings.

Looks awesome!

Ask and you shall receive... Here is the requested logo with the 919 in both black and gray. Not sure what you meant by an outline of the wings.

If someone can send me a large photo of their tail section or another section you would like to see a decal, I can overlay it for you.

I'll speak with both printers tomorrow and hopefully have a price then. I told them I'd like a price on 2 inch and 4 inch sizes. Tell me what size and I'll get a price. Both said they may need a minimum order of 25 - 50 decals.

Edit: I would also need to know if you want the 919 or not, and if so, black or gray numbers

Second that... Looks good though

I'd be in for a couple colored ones, black letters with either 919 or Hornet on them.

WE could just cut the 919 off of the sticker if we wanted too, then you wouldnt have to make different stickers

I don't think you'll have to worry about meeting the buy minimum! I like the white wings but I don't understand why everyone is SO against the Honda logo. You should be proud of your brand! Besides you already have 919 on both sides of the cowel. (Just my 2 cents.) I don't think it matters what is decided because we're all going to get one anyway
I know it's been said before, but Tip'o'Hat to you for taking it this far. This will be a nice addition to anyone's bike!

There's your plan and then there's God's plan.........

How about something like this, so the wings blend in a little better? Just another viewpoint.

Here's a photo-chop of a decal on a red bike. Also, I don't want to sell any until I receive them so what I'll do is set up a time to go to the printers place (hopefully tomorrow on my lunch hour) and watch them print the first one for a trial. As long as it looks good, I'll order all 50. Once I have them, I'll post them in the For Sale section. You will need to specify if you want a large (4 inch) or a small (2 inch) decal.

***Note: on the attached photo, this is pretty darn close to the actual size. This shot is from directly above the rear of the bike and I verified, by looking at mine, that the entire decal will be visible if just standing behind the bike not bent over it.

Toe in picture, bah! Lets see you try to take that pic up here in WI, your foot would freeze to the ground. I'm sorry, I need to calm down. Winter is hitting me extra hard this year. I haven't seen my bike in weeks. She's hiding all bundled up under her cover, but at least I'm thinking about her and how cool a new decal might look.

i really don't see how you guys live in that climate... then again i am sure you think we are crazy for the summers we have... but in reality the breeze off the ocean keeps us from getting to hot here during the summer months... and occasionally during winter it will dip into the high 50's low 60's here at night... boy you should see the people bundled up when that happens.. like little eskimos

I wonder the same thing all the time and often think what I ever did wrong to my parents to raise me in such a crappy climate.

We can easily go from 100-110 in August/Sept to -20 to -30 below by January/Feb.

And when it's been that cold and the sun comes out and it's 20-30 out, you'll see people in shorts or jeans a a t-shirt. Major heat wave....

I'm heading towards the N/W part of SD this weekend and Sunday night it's supposed to be a balmy -18 below, with a high of -1 on Monday.
