I'm really not much of a Yamaha fan, I don't dislike them they're just not "me"
But I do like this.

Nice. . .

A nicely mod'd FZ1 is nice naked. This is one that I like, especially with the Euro FZ1 non faired headlight. I'm considering one as a future project naked.

Here's the faired Dunlop FZ1, black wheels would've been nicer. . .

Check out the writeup on it from Hellforleathermagazine.com - Looks great in the picture until you actually have a chance to check the details. Mixed and matched parts like crazy. Even still, it does look good.

In stock form, they're pretty gutless under 7000rpm.

A friend of mine has amodded gen 2 FZ1. It has balls. Power wise, if felt to me, as strong as my 929. He does not agree, he says the 929 is noticibly stronger. So power wise, it is at least in the same ballpark, which is very good. However, to get it to run as it does, it had the kitchen sink thrown at it. It has the airbox cut, different air filter,a PowerCommander, an Ivan's FCE, cat removed, slip on, and I think a smaller front sprocket, and a speedo healer. And all of that is ok. Most of us end up doing most of that to any bike we own anyways. But an FZ HAS to have it done. My WR450 was pretty much the same way.

Handling wise, it's still an FZ. The gen 1s were a barge. The gen 2 aren't a whole lot better. A well set up 919 will leave em in the corners, but get murdered in the open.

This is my favorite pick for a new bike right now, if you can remove the radiator shroud and make that area look better. 146 hp v-twin sounds good.

I know someone with a rolling chasis i think it's 2003. it was crashed pretty hard but she still starts up rear and front subframe are distroyed. but everything else looks ok based on my eyeballing observations. Let me know if you're interested and i'll put you in contact with him.

brand new buell 1125cr. i know a few poeple with buell's, i liked them but they were very slow and no power. This one takes care of the power problem. http://www.buell.com/en_us/bikes/street/1125CR/

OMG... those scoops look like crap! Other than that? I think it's a nice looking bike and if the power is where they claim it is... I'd consider one.

Nothing wrong with Yamaha as far as quality goes.

Manufacturers will make anything they're sure they'll make money on. Tooling up is expensive. They'd have to sell a lot of them to turn a profit. The bike above would be expensive. They wouldn't sell a lot of them, and loose money.

Heck, we can't even get the Honda CB1000R in this country.....

Paint those scoops black, make em much less noticable.

I wanted a Buell, the basic naked version, until I went to ride one. The first two shops couldn't get their bike to start, the third shop got a second bike to start. I was determined to ride one, and it was a fun ride. However, these bikes have some serious quality problems.

i have a magazine article about the new one... they showed where it got so hot the plastics on the side started to melt... it is a shame really.. i used to want a buell so bad when i saw one i would have to bend over and cover my crotch... then a friend let me ride his.. omg what a p.o.s........ and its a shame because they can make a v-twin harley haul a$$.. but for some reason everything buell does isnt quite as good as it looked on paper and when they are finished the look at it and go

"well thats close enough to the drawing, lets try to sell it"
