not exactly what was expected

Put on some red wheel stripes tonight and they look good red but when the lights hit them.... they look orange.

I have a friend who has the same ones. They are red wheel stripes, look really nice, but when you shine light on them, especially at night by headlights, they reflect orange. I think they're designed like that to help drivers spot your motorcycle at night.

Exactly why I wear black and silver and ride a black and silver bike. Many riders around here can easily look the same to an untrained eye. Not that I go around looking for trouble with the cops, but if I was ever doing something really stupid, or something maybe not so stupid but worthy of a ticket according to the police, the I would at least like to have a chance at disappearing.

Some guys around here wear those helmets with the bright pink and green mohawks. I'd rather not be that easy to spot. My theme with the 919 is to not draw attention to myself.

I have had an attempt to elude police in my younger days but it was thrown out when i went to court. I think the stripes look good dark red and it doesnt look like it would draw a lot any unwanted attention, but at night I would stand out. Not so sure I am going to keep these. If I remove them I will probably put them back on but not reflective. Is it hard to remove the black from the rims? I have seen the pictures where some have removed the black and I think it looks good on a black bike.

Ahh, I'd put up with it if it would keep some dumb Cage Driver from plowing into me.

From the photos I think your bike looks great! I would personally keep the reflective strips on there. They'll look red in natural light, but reflect bright orange when a car's headlight shines on them; that sounds like a good thing to me! As someone that has been hit by a car and is never trying to elude or hide from anyone, I say you can never be too visible to the inattentive cagers out there.

They are kinda growing on me. The more i look at them while glowing they are not as bad as when i first saw them. At least i like the color orange which is helping somewhat.
