The B-King IS a transfomer. You don't want to piss him off.

BTW, I don't think it looks all that bad. It certainly doesn't deserve to be mentioned together with the B-King.

Better in black?

That photo isn't the same. That must be a concept photo.

The exhaust and tail section are totally different.

The cans and seat are different, but not by much. Here's a photo directly from the Kawasaki webpage.

styling is meh but what i do like is the front forks, radial brakes, the nice moto gp style swing arm. it looks like it should peform better than it looks. more naked bikes need more performance.

They should have stuck to the concept. Subtle differences, but much better than the photo from the Kawasaki webpage.

The bike should have a lot of potential, they just need to remove the ugliness...

Not bad, I rather like it except for the mufflers. Why all the bell - bottomed cans?

Not bad.

A Fender Eliminator and aftermarket Cans are a given, and those 2 parts the most obtrusive of its design, imo.

i'm thinking it'll be a lot like the b-king: an aftermarket exhaust will make it look a lot better

I like it, sans the exhaust. The tail section could be a little beefier to balance the aggressive front end.

Call it what you want. I'll call it kick ass since it looks like it will be available in the states!

I sure hope it is not an overweight pig like the Bking. Over 1000cc and naked. If she is under 450lbs it will be sweet!

I guess it's dependant upon a persons perception of "naked". Although I like some of them (B-king) none of the bikes with any of that extra plastic seem naked to me. I love my 919 but I would love to be able to afford any number of the other bikes as well.

If you haven't owned a Kawi in the past few years, then you are talking out of your . That would have been my answer before I was loned a Versys last weekend (long story). So, I will say, if you haven't owned a Kawi sportbike or KLR in the past few years, then you are talking out of your . :001_smile:

Dude, there is no way Kawasaki fixed the quality control issues that have plagued them forever, it just is an accepted part of their business model.

Long term, they do not hold up as well as the other major brands, and you can take that to the bank.

Again, if you don't own one of their newer sportbikes, you don't have a valid basis for an opinion. The ZX10's are extremely well built. I have owned somewhere between 20 and 30 bikes since the 70's, and this is one of the best built bikes I have owned, and other ZX10 owners have similar experiences. But, that Versys was more the Kawi of old....

It's easy.. The single bulging light in the front, It's obviously dehydrated. Also note the large empty section between the rear tail section and the plate - signal frame. I would call that a splatter shield.

Just a matter of time IMHO..

its their attempt at secret mind control... the harmonic emissions from the "trawler" type exhaust is specifically tuned to gain control over the "round eye" cerebellum... thereby making us powerless as they take over our world.... the only known cure is the carefull application of silly putty and ear plugs along with occasional replacement with aftermarket exhausts....

this is specifically seen mostly in suzuki gizzers...

I'm glad I'm not the only guy that thinks modern bike styling is going down a very bizarre path.

I think bikes from decades past are so much cooler, that 's why there's chocolate and vanilla I guess.......and maybe lately I find myself drawn to much more classic liines like in cruisers and cafe racers....cos the new stuff is well.....

bizarre

Even sportbikes, the epitome of minimalism, function over form....even elegance....have started to get a little goofy.

But it's not nearly as crazy as these standard bikes where they seem to just offer up a blank canvas and say "go to town"....and you assume these designers have vast experience and education and yet I just often find myself thinkin....."what were they thinkin?"

Good greef. I am starting to think we are on an HD board. Everyone is more concerned with how the bike looks than how it performse or last (few exceptions of coarse).

Come on guys. Stop bitching about how bad they look and demand we get some of these so we can rip around on a performance bike that is comfy.

What's the deal with headlights these days? That Kawie, the CB1000R, the Yamaha FZ1, Tuono are all pretty good lookin bikes until you see the front. yuuuk!

I'm not a big Buell fan.... but the air cooled XB models are tha way a streetbike should look. They have 2 little 3" headlights, side by side, like they should be, with a flyscreen. They quit when it was time to quit.

I look at that Kawie, or the Honda and think, I'd have to budget some dollars for a new headlight assembly if I ever got one of those.

I agree. For me it should be performance first. However, you can't deny that looks do play an important role, me personally, I would like the entire package. The likes of a Brutale comes to mind: performance and pure class, a work of art. Would it hurt the top 4 Jap companies to send their designers for a lesson or 2 from the Europeans? I mean a plastic mould is a plastic mould, be it for the flyscreen or mirrors, it costs the same, so it may as well look like something you aren't glad you are riding with a full face helmet on for the wrong reasons...
