Looks good, but the headlight lacks character. Compared to the Fz09 and the cb1000r it's a bit generic.

I guess I'm in the minority of my 49 year old peers. I am loving the new "transformer" design nekkid bikes. I know a lot of people bristled at the z1000, but think it looks so baddass - especially in person. A lot of folks knew that while it went pretty far in design, it would lead all others to follow, but not quite as extreme.

Like the zook but a soft spot for the Z. Still love the round headlight look of the Speed Triples too, so I guess I just love looking at bikes.

I'll admit that I'm not too inpressed with the looks. I scanned the articles oak1971 linked and didn't see any horsepower or torque numbers, but I did see it mentioned that the engine was "optimized" for the street. I'm sure it will be better than the CB1kR, but still somewhat watered down.

Hideous. Wouldn't be caught dead. Never was a fan of a bike that looked like an alien insect.

I'm not crazy about that particular color, but I like it.

From looking at the picture, it has Brembos, ABS (which has all of a sudden become standard). And it being a Suzie, it'll romp!

Make that thing a really dark color, lose the back fender and mirrors. That look will grow on me real quick.

I hope it's not too heavy. The 750 version is kind of porky.

2016 Suzuki GSX-S1000 First Ride Review

Sounds like a really nice naked, and sensible too depending on the price. Hopefully they offer other colors... I wish the 750 was as well done.

https://www.suzuki-gb.co.uk/gsx-s1000/

Power: 107.00kW @ 10000rpm (143.50hp)
Torque: 106.00N.m @ 9500rpm (78.20lb.ft)

A "tad" better than the CB1KR in the hp and torque department, no surprise there.

CB1R:

Power: 123.4 hp / 92 kW @ 10000 rpm

Max Torque: 100 Nm / 73.8 ft-lb @ 8000 rpm

That's a bit more than I expected, honestly, but it still isn't enough to make up for the way it looks.

I'm not all that crazy about the look, either. However I have come to accept that's just the way motorcycles are now. It seems that the busier they look, load it down with the most clutter, have as many different lines and sections, and parts the better. Then, give a dash with dozens of functions.

On top of that give it different ride modes (I think ride modes is just about the dumbest thing ever. Honestly If you can't handle it at full throttle, you bought too big of a bike) then give it anti lock brakes, because now, if you do something stupid, and get hurt, sue the manufacturer for a million dollars. I think it's a reflection of life today.

If it was a reflection of life today, it would be living in it's mom's basement and playing video games all day long.

147 hp? Yup, it will stomp ass.

No it's been around for 5 years or so. It is what it is. A naked Honda liter bike . Just not as powerful as some expect it to be.

I thought the new 2015 has something new vs the old ones. I already know about it then. But nobody's talking about it. Even on here people don't care about it much so honda is not back in the game. You got me excited for no reason lol

I wish they'd start making "premium" 600ish naked bikes. Street triple and the Duke 690 need some company. Sumos would be nice too..

Have you ridden one (I haven't)? On paper it doesn't seem like much of an upgrade to me.
