Looks like the 600 Hornet, although that's what I fully expect the new 900-1000 Hornet to resemble or be. Bet it's going to be a lot more like a sport bike regardless. I'm excited to see it but realize it will make my 06 seem outdated once released.

I'll believe it when I see it. MCN originally released that photochop and they're usually completely full of horse dung when it comes to early release photos.

The 06' and prior 9ers are classic. They might become dated, but they will be remembered. Just like the old nighthawk line!

Too often we lose sight of life's simple pleasures.
Remember when someone annoys you, that it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown ...
But it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and bitch-slap that mother- upside the head...

Pass it on.

If it's in Europe next year, it won't be here until 09'.
Inverted forks and more power would be nice upgrades. Still has a lousy seat.

Europe & Japan have had a cb1000f for a few years so it makes sense that they'd update it.

If it is real, it looks delicious and extra spicy.

Translation by Babel Fish

According to the review Spain Motorcycling, this that you see here in photo will be the future "super Hornet" from 1000cc. From an article of the Spanish review in fact, after the launch of renewed the Yamaha FZ1 and Kawasaki Z1000 is logical to think that also the Honda must be prepared to overwhelm the empty one left at the moment in the field of the maxi naked. And this over is the interpretation here of that 1000 F Hornet could be the future Honda CB second the men of celebre the made Spanish salary through the fotomontaggio to work of J.M. Guerin - fotomontaggio that between the other to we seems very successful - inspires in fact a lot to "the small" Hornet, although with more muscles and greater attention to the details as the drainage system, always posizionato under to the motor but that it could count on two escapes.

He he.. just read that all the way through.. pretty funny. The key word there is "interpretation"!

Thank god. And I thought that there was nothing left in this world I could count on. But two escapes? That gives me strength to fight another day...

Seriously, though...hope the real 1k'er looks similar. That could break my love affair w/ my 9er. Still prefer tucked under "escapes" instead of side "escapes", but that's just me.

That red and white thing is the CB1300. Europe has a CB1000. There was an article in t.w.o. a few months back. The bike features a detuned "Fireblade " engine. 100hp, lots of torque. It is aimed at re-entry riders and those who want their first big bike. In my eyes, it's horribly ugly.

That's pretty damn sporty looking! I don't like the design 100%, but at least it doesn't have Star Trek styling like the Z1000 or B-King. I'd consider buying one.

I did a 'before and after' photoshop with some black parts, smaller rear license bracket and smaller mirrors.
I don't think it's a bad looking bike at all, it still has the basic lines as the 919, it just needs a few tweaks here and there.

This was another mock up I found searching around.
cb1000.jpg

A little less realistic, but looks fun all the same.

Now, I don't think those pictures are real, they look too much like the new 600. But... If it does look like that, before you knock it, refer to this thread and let your imagination run with what the 1000 could look like:
