New 919er

Hey all,

Well, two weeks ago tomorrow I took the plunge and upgraded from my sv650s to a brand new 07 919. I have never been more pleased about a purchase in my whole life. I have the 600 mile service scheduled for tomorrow and my new givi windscreen (first of many mods) just came in today. The 919 is all the bike I have ever wanted and then some. The fact that it is pretty rare in the US is the icing on the cake. I look forward to communicating with you all.

Welcome,I also am new but I wonder about this icing on the cake you speak about.
Seems like I see a lot now,but as a discontinued bike there are good deals.

Do you think they made the last run of these bikes in 2006 and that's why no color change for 2007 ???

Good buy! You didn't happen to get from Alamo Cycle Plex did you? I know they still have some 07's.

Welcome! Where at in Texas are you Vaporman? I saw a red 919 here in the Killeen area (actually in Copperas Cove) about 2 weeks ago that I didn't recognize.

congrats:001_smile: I love the point that you don't see them a dime a dozen ! indeed makes riding and owning more meaningful.

people always come up to me and comment about the bike, how good it is...blah..blah....

Wow, thanks for the warm welcomes everybody. Unfortunately, my insurance is a little higher than the SV (the only downside), but I think it is still pretty reasonable for full coverage. Alinosa, I did end up buying one of the new 2007s from Alamo Cycle Plex (conveniently located 5 mins away). I had told myself that I would never buy new, but it was a pretty good price so what the hell I guess. The tax refund for new bikes purchased in 2009 was what pushed me over.

Don't talk to someone named Ridge on this site, He's just jealous of all the 9er's.

And...

And maybe...

And quite possibly...

And maybe even...

And no 919 is complete without "slightly modified" hornet decals available here!...

As usually, I'm just having fun while being serious.
