I guess what do you want? What inspires you when you see a bike or car down the road? Let's start with that and then refine from there!

Roland Sands did up a 919 which could be a baseline for some paint design. Add some dogfighter/WWII imagery, could be interesting.

I'm a huge fan of matte black and bright burnt orange accents. This is what I plan for my 919. First I have to get the dents out of the tank I also don't like being a moving advertisement, so I like stripping any brand markings like the Honda and 919 stickers. It also makes me feel like the vehicle is "mine" moreso than regular modifications.

There are two reasons I wouldn't do that personally. A brighter green with matte black would make you look like you're driving some Monster energy drink machine (I've seen a few of those... eww). The second reason is silly superstition, but I wont put green anything on my bike aside from the neutral light . I do think matte black and green accent combo does look great, though. I was going to put green LEDs in my speedo/tach, but, yeah, superstition. I decided with a regular amber light which will be switched out soon. It's not the right shade of orange. It makes the gauges easy to read, but they look too 80's.

Harley dudes won't paint their bikes green, (bad luck) they don't want to wake the green manalishi.

maybe they should start using another color besides black or chrome then. seems most of the harelys that break down are chromed out or have a lot of black.

possible connection?

Flat red would look decent if it were the right shade. You might look into a burnt orange with black accents or even a nice yellow. I always thought naked bikes looked great in yellow.

Something like this color:

This would look sick with a murdered out engine, black/carbon fiber tank protector, etc.

I'm going to have to stop responding before I start stripping my bike for an overhaul

Just take it down to bare metal with a DA sander then clearcoat it!

What about yellow/black with hornet(the insect) stickers on both sides of the tank and 919 painted on the tail. Did you hornet come in black at one time.
