Need a new chain for the niner-any recommendations?

Probably going with stock size 530. Dont need sprockets. What brand would you use and why?

Thanks,

On my 2nd niner! 2wheels are better than 4

I went with DID based on what I read on this site. I've been riding it for about 2k miles and it still looks brand new, and I've had to make no adjustments so far.

... replace chain n sprockets as one, otherwise you may as well just throw your new chain away. (unless sprockets are VERY lightly used)

What he said. Unless the sprockets are new, you should always replace together. Any wear on the sprockets will accelerate the wear on the chain.

530 Steel Sprocket Set w/Premium D.I.D. 530 X'ring Chain - HONDA CB 919 02-07 Sprocket Center

Seems like a good deal. Never used them. Usually order from mc superstore and the local dealer didn't want to sell me the DID chain or didnt want to look for one.

What are the stock sprocket sizes again...17 and 41? Under $200 for the whole thing seems really good. Any idea how many links I should order or is it best to just call them?

Hit up LDH on here, he works for Dan Kyle racing and can probably pull you a good deal.

Just go to your UserCP, click on PM's and in the New PM box, type LDH, his name will pop up; just send him a PM.

+1 on chain n sprockets together. Please rivet the soft link properly with a workshop chain rivet tool. I saw the results of it not done correctly...wasn't pretty!

sprocket center is ok, shipped me the wrong sprocket the first time around which serously delayed my bike at the shop. never reimbursed anything for me, just sent a new sprocket and I had to wait an extra week because of their mistake.

DID is the way to go.

look around for the best deal, PM LDH, shop around on ebay etc. DID chain, AFAM front and Sunstar rear steel sprockets work well together

++1 Hooked me up with a great combo 17/44 that works great on the 9er.

Highly recommend LDH as a vendor.
