My '03 9er

Ive got tons of parts and some really great advice from you guys. Some of you may reconize parts on my bike from you, some may reconize ideas Ive "stolen" lol. Anyway I got to thinkin Ive never posted a pic of my bike on here and since I got a spiffy camera for cmas now seemed appropriate.

Next on the list is respring the f4i forks, and figure out some sort of gp1 exhaust configuration. The wind screen and the seat are "functional" mods I dont really like the way they look but for what they do Ill deal with it!

Any ideas on some gas tank badges(may just leave it blank)? I had some crf red wings I cut out from the clear sticker, they looked great but didn't look good once I went to the gold wheels.

Your bike looks sharp. Lots of people make the factory looking decal, maybe you could find a gold one. If you spray bomb the inside of the fairing black it takes some of the smoked glass, coke snorting, '80's coffee table look out of it.
How do you like the forks?

Thanks man, Ive been thinking about painting the inside of the screen but I think it would make it more visable.... I do like to function but the bike looks alot better with out it in my opinion.

Im not a small guy so the stock forks were horrible, the f4i forks aren't great but its a step in the right direction. I stiffined up the compression and let the rebound out a bit. Ive had em for a few years. When I 1st put them on I noticed a big difference in how hard I was able to confidently swing the bike into a decent corner over the stock ones, now I feel they need an upgrade. Its probally a combonation of my getting used to them and my riding skill going up a little. But for the money it was one of the best upgrades Ive done so far, 100 bucks or so.

A gold factory looking decal would be nice.

Once you get them dialed I'd like to ride your bike. My '03 is bone stock in the suspension department (except for the fork oil level) I'm also a big bastage at 6'5" 240lb.

That looks great Brian. Everything has really come together. I like the gold levers

Here is a place on ebay that has Honda decals.

Sticker-Craze items - Get great deals on snowboard, surfboard items on eBay Stores!

Maybe if you ask nice enough they came spit out some gold ones. The tank definitely needs something gold, even if it isn't the wing. Maybe a panel or something. Check out this pic of Braveheart. Sands did a dark panel on top of the green or whatever color tank. Looks pretty sharp. Just an idea

Artic- i KNEW someone was gonna say something about the blinkers lol, they gotta go Ive just been too lazy to properly wire up some cheapo cycle gear two wire signals (dont wanna loose the running lamps up front) and been thinking about newer 600rr ones. Send me a pic of your windscreen please. [email protected]

Fly- thanks man you pushed me over the edge on the wheels, I may do some sort of custom sticker.

I would apologize, but that's just silly. You know you love it. Like me, you probably stand and stare at your bike...marveling at the transformation that has occurred. You probably have pictures of her on every device that displays pictures, endlessly comparing them to old pictures with the invisible wheels, dreaming of the next time you get to ride.

Or maybe that's just me.

I had mine blacked out since it was new, (the top part) recently I painted the bottom portion.

Love the look man. Nice accents. Is that a stock rear hugger?

Agree with the above, gotta ditch the signals. They were cake to re-wire. My buddy (Osiris on here) just got some flush mount ones; we haven't put them on yet so we'll have to let you know how they look. $12 or so on eBay.

I have the stock windscreen, too, but have yet to put it on. How does it help with the wind?

Your bike looks great Brian. You should use that for your avatar. Personally I think decals can make the bike. I suggest black with gold outline. I have a decal guy who is cheap and good. For about $35=shipping you would get both wings for the tank, 2-919's, 2 hornets and a small Honda for the tail. Shoot me a PM if you are interested.

Thanks guys, the windscreen does more than it looks like it would do. It keeps almost all the wind blast off your torso, which is more than I was expecting out of this little screen. I have a big one I dont even use on longish trips anymore as this one is fine.

Rick I would be interested but in the tank ones only, thanks.

looks great. Not a big fan of f4i fender though, too big for 919 appearance IMHO.

Here is what I did when I had f4i forks on my 919:
modded VFR front fender, picked up for $20 or so on ebay, was red and I painted it metallic black with some Krylon fusion plastic primer and duplicolor metallic spray paint with clear coat. Very durable finish.

I'll post more pics if you want to go that route

I used rotozip with plastic bit to cut it, once cut just file/sand the edges. I masked it just like in pics below

Bolt holes align perfectly. As you can see VFR800 fender has 6 holes vs 4 on f4i. Just put dummy bolts in the top front holes. The fender is very sturdy with just 4 bolts, just as solid as 4fi one

Nice thought process, outside the box I dig it! Couldn't I hack my f4i fender for the same result though?

Brian, trying to get some goons out for a ride this Wednesday evening. If the weather is right we could meet at Quaker Steak's bike night, check out some motorcycles and go for a little cruise. This bike night is usually huge, about 50% Harleys, about 40% swingarms and the rest cool stuff. There was even a gang of guys on 2 strokes, really neat to see.
