Multiple issues with my 9'r

It seems that just after doing my 24k on my 06 919, she is deciding to start messing with my head. I had the usual maintenance w/new tires and sprocket/chain. I almost immediately noticed that the engine has a much more distinct whirl to it. After 1300 miles I brought it back in to the dealer to tighten the chain. They told me I needed a new chain! I informed them that the last one made 24k miles... Needless to say they brought it back in and looked at it again. The service manager set me up by ordering me a new chain and installing it labor free. Haven't been in yet to get the new one on.
We'll see if it is my whirling sound culprit.

Last night my headlight died when I went to leave work. Stayed off all the way home. After researching possible issues here I took apart the light switch to test for voltage I got nada. I accidentally hit the horn and "Blink", the headlight just lit up. I cycled the ignition a couple times and rode to work this morning with no probs. I hope there isn't a poltergeist in there.
BTW the solders in the switch looked perfect.

I hope she doesn't come flying apart ANY time soon.

Any thoughts??

Dude 24K on a chain is pretty amazing I think. I had to replace mine at 18K and it was realy loud at that point. Not sure what's up with your light switch. Was your ignition and kill switch on when you checked it? What did you use for ground? Maybe your switch contacts are a little grimy.

I will take it apart this weekend again and look at the switch. It acted up again last night, but I wiggled the wire around and it came back on.

Well, time to sell it and get another bike ! JK

24k Out of a stock chain is incredible - you must be a zealot when it comes to manitaining it ! You have done really well with it, and if the Sm @ your local dealer is going ot put in on for free - BONUS !!!!
Sounds like you have a loose connection, before you get too hard core in tearing ti apart, check the basic stuff first - make sure all of your connections are tight, then look deaper -
