Hi everyone: This is not meant as competition for this forum, but as an opportunity for all who are living in the Seattle area looking for a serious riding group. We started this group, because there isn't anything else out there like it!
Membership for Naked Bikes in Seattle now open, only the serious need to apply!
Do you love your naked bike, but feel like the odd duck in a sport bike club? Do you love riding more than talking about it? This is the group for you! This is the first and only group for naked and standard bikes in Seattle. We like to ride sporty, but safe, (no squids please). It's all about riding! To be a member of "Naked Bikes in Seattle”, you must own a naked/standard bike and enjoy riding it! As a member, you have to post an introduction of yourself and a picture of you and your bike, and must be willing to have your email address accessible for our members. This way, we can always reach everybody to hook up for rides.
We are always looking for new members to join, that share our interests and goals: the love of all naked bikes! However, it isn’t the quantity of members, but the quality. Everyone in NB’s is down to earth, open minded, decent people, involved in group dedication; participation is mandatory! One of the benefits of being a member of this group is friendship, as we should become close friends who support and stand by one another.
Being part of this organization means actively participating in the group. If you’re just looking for a chat room, or a group of bikers who ride together every so often, then don’t waste your time! We all pitch in, and care enough to take an active part in the maintenance of this organization. In order to have a ride each week, members must organize and lead a ride at least once - twice per year.
Safety is also very important to us. We take steps to ensure safety on every ride. We find that it is through the building of skill that safety is more easily achieved. However, there are certain things one can do while practicing or riding in a group to increase the level of safety regardless of the skill level of either the rider or the group. This is why riding often and exhibiting an attitude conducive to increasing one’s skill is a requirement for membership in our group.
