Mean Streak mirrors

I've mentioned how good the Kawasaki Mean Streak mirrors are before, Here's a couple of Pics
I bought these on Ebay for $45 the pair.

Looks good.

Did you have to modify them any to mount them on your 919?

Those do seem to match the lines of the 919 better than the stock round ones. Do they get any better view?

They fit right on, and the view is better than stock, and no vibrating.

I'm looking around at options for replacing the stock mirrors. Leaning toward bar end mirrors, but wondering if you still like the MS mirrors PHOBMAN, and if there is any down side to them. Is the view considerably better than stock - do you see around your elbows, even on the right side? I'm thinking about posting on the big Kaw forum to see if I can get a set cheap - many of those guys swap out their mirrors right away.

Ken,

You keep on and you're gonna pass Mike up for the most modded award. How do you like red wheels?

Red face

Oh no, not me brother!

What ever gave you that idea? LoL. Maybe because I've been a bit of a since I arrived? I'll admit, once I get into something, I do it with gusto!! But this forum is great and you guys/girls makes it easy to ask questions and get feedback.

I've got my heart set on just a few things -- mirrors, exhaust, and sliders. I'm going to give the stock seat a decent try, say a few thousand miles and see if it gets any better. Same with the PCIII -- I received many PMs from folks that didn't want to jump into that post since some subjects can get a bit testy (can you say fork raisers and pdf manuals?! ) But the consensus is that the bike runs just great with Satos and without a PCIII.

If I had to pick just one mod though, it would be the mirrors. They are poor in looks (IMO) and function, so it's a safety and aesthetic farkle in one. I love this part of getting a new bike though -- figuring out its strengths and weaknesses -- fun research!

These are the best mirrors I've had on any bike and I new it when I had my Meanie. That's why I hunted them down.

No offense meant bro.. cuz everyone has an opinion and mine is likely lame to some.. but those mirrors are hideous on the 919. They look transplanted off a mid-80's kawa-somthin'. I mean.. I guess if they are functional.. great.. but man.... Anyway. Sorry to dog on them.. but this thread keeps moving up so I just had to weigh in. Ignore me, I am a dick.

Has anyone looked at the mirrors off of a "06" 599?

Hey Kendog. I want to see a larger picture of your bike. That looks bad ass!

The 599 mirrors are a bit smoother than the MS ones.

If anyone is interested in a set of MS mirrors in great condition, just let me know. Wil let them go cheap.
