Lowering 919 - Have a 2nd shock to work with

Hey Guys,

Just got my hands on 07 rear shock for cheap ($40 shipped!) i really want to lower my 919 about an inch if possible. I did the spencer mod and barely noticed any seat height difference.

I feel like the padding on the side of the seat pushes my thigh outwards which serves to 1 - raise my leg up a bit so i cant sit as square and 2 - really hurt my poor lil old hip after a few weeks of constant riding.

Annnyways I've read modifying the stock shock might be the only way to get some more lowering on there. So i now have a newer 07 shock. I believe there is a piece i need to buy that replaces one of the mounts with one thats a bit smaller. But i cant find this thing anywhere...

Also i've read i need to compress the shock and pop this guy off and press the new one on? Seems strange. Any input?

Unfortunately, the lowering link only works with the 02-03 shock that doesn't have the rebound control in the bottom

30,000 mile 919 survivor. No plans of stopping the abuse any time soon.
