It's a long shot; are there 100 people interested in a Givi crash cage for their 919?

Just contacted Givi asking about where their crash bars for their 919 went... fairly quick response telling me that they could do an order IF: 100 people (orders) were going to happen, and if half of the payment was received in advance.

Like I said... probably a long shot.. which is a bummer because it's the best looking cage I've seen for the 919. Not sure about prices per order, will report back and update that!

Posting a picture to this thread may help raise interest. Not sure there are 100 people left here with 919's...

Maybe give these a go? Obviously, irrelevant if you're dead set on the givi bars.

Alright, first: Am I responding correctly so everyone can see what I am writing? I am not very active on here and still trying to learn the interface.

Second: Just got a reply from Givi: For 100, retailing at $157 each, the total order would be $15,700, with $7,850 needed upfront before production starts. They did mention that they would kick 5% off if an order like that were put through, as well as free shipping. So, it would be instead $14,915, with each person paying 149.15. Cheaper than the SW-Motech, but we would still need 100..

You could just front them the money and then try to sell them off

Good luck with finding 100. I tried to find 10 for a group buy on a custom triple for rc51 conversion a while back on this forum. Didn't work out for me.

Maybe that'll be the start to a small business? I'll just have to sell all my vehicles to get the first half...

Maybe we should join forces... I want to import JDM motorcycles, particularly the early racebikes that are now falling into NHTSA/EPA exemption (25+ years old) I think they share about the same market size. My problem is I'd be selling my house and trucks trying to get a containers worth of bikes here, let alone buying the damn things.

if you love your motorcycle, set it free.. if it comes back and hits you.. you highsided

I'm in college . A small business of my own is many years down the street...

But they did get back to me after I asked them about weather or not it is 919 specific. (Maybe it would fit the Fireblade, or newer Hondas?) They said it is only 919 specific.. so not much branching out here.

That's too much people and too much money, and i think that cage was cheaper than $150.

It would be nicer that someone make a plan in autocad/sketchup, to make it at home. (piratery, mmm... perhaps, but if you move something here and there, it's not)
