Ignition Barrel Sticking

Hey All, I hope you are well.
I haven't posted for ages but still lurking.
I have a dilemma.
I have a trip organised with my son in 2 weeks time.
My ignition barrel on the 919 is sticking and the key won't turn unless there is lots of jiggling.
It's a HISS model so they are chipped keys.
Is it possible to use the inner out of a standard barrel and have a locksmith modify it to the original key or have a locksmith repair the original one?
Honda want up to $600 for new lock, keys and to reprogramme the ECU for them, but the parts will take at least 3 weeks to get.
Would anybody have a solution?

Thanks in advance,Dog.

Have you tried using some lube in the tumblers to free up the gunk? Silicone spray or similar?

Don't use silicone, use graphite to lube the tumblers.

Also, I find that I have to take pressure off of the steering lock sometimes in order to turn the ignition. Might be an easy fix for you.
