Ideas for Paint Job

So I purchased a new tank becuase the one that is currently on there has a small leak on the side. Since the tank is Prepped allready I was thinking of changing the look of the bike all together.

After doing a little surfing I came across the Jap. Hornet stock paint scheme and I actually dig it. I was thinking of going w/ this two-tone paint but am having a hard time deciding on what two colors. I really like the color Smoke on the late model Nissan Altimas and was thinking of incorperating that into the two-tone. The second color is the hardest one I am trying to decide. I am looking at the following.

All Smoke (Metallic, possible silver flaking)
All Pearl White
Smoke + White
Smoke + Silver

I am looking for something that will give my bike a clean apperance and nothing tacky or 'loud'. Appreciate your input.

That yellow and black looks really good, except it resembles Yamaha's colors.

IMO pearl white would look awesome.

Black with heavy metal flake. Then add a silver racing stripe with heavy metal flake.

Bling bling!

I have always dreamed of doing a vehicle paint job that looks like the mineral hematite. Sort of a pearl silver / gray. Probably would cost a fortune but I have never seen a vehicle like that.

Don't laugh at me (too much anyway) but I have had this other juvenile idea kicking around my head for a few years
The other custom bike idea I have always thought would be fun is to take one of the Uranium paint schemes as a base and make a nuclear themed custom. Add radiation symbols and rig up some internal neon in the engine bay whose intensity was tied to engine RPM. Basically rev the bike and it would have an internal glow get brighter.

Stupid yes, but custom paint jobs aren't too rational to start with.

As long as we're talking dream paint, I have two ideas.

1. Pearl White as ramrod said, with gloss black wheels and forks, and charcoal or cobalt blue honda emblems. I mean that newer white speed triple is bad looking imo.

or

2. Candy apple blue, one thick white racing stripe, 919 in the candy blue on the tank in a loopy like dirttrack racing # style font, and those old school yellow wing honda emblems like you'd see on an elsinore...combine that with some natural rubber colored grips (never seen them but I would think they're avail?) some trick levers etc, maybe even carrying said 919 font to tail section and even the top right of a buell screen...ok ok enough rambling.

Obsession is a word the lazy use to define the dedicated.

I'd go with the smoke and silver or smoke and white. I bet either one would look awesome. Be sure to post some pics so we can all enjoy!

I kind of like the Nucular Melt down theme.

If I was going to paint me silver bike, It'd be pearl yellow.

I like the new red, but the rest of the 919's need a bucket of paint thrown at them.

I agree that the nuclear green with radiation signs would be kinda cool.

I've considered doing black and silver or dark gray and silver, with the darker color on top and silver on bottom, but after seeing these, maybe silver on top would look better...

ndcent and mdtoney Have awesome suggestions if you did something like there ideas use ghost graphics. There their but not so in your face. You see them when you get close to the bike, But when your riding, The graphics don't take away from the overall esthetics.

I was considering the ghost graphics but unfortunetly that costs a little more that i'd like to spend. My wife is due anytime now and this is baby number 2. The Wife knows I love my bikes and it's my only real hobby so she understands wanting to do a nice paint job for it. I will talk to the local motorcycle painter here in Hawai'i as soon as I get my front fender in. Thanks again for everyones awesome ideas.
