Idea for a rear hugger

I really want to do some sort of fender eliminator, but I don't want more debris and water thrown on me more than usual. I was thinking about making my own rear hugger similar to the RC212V(see below for pic). I would make the first one out of fiberglass, but i believe I could do urethane after I have an original. How would this look on a 919? I don't plan on making it with as big a flare at the end, but about the same length and keep the diameter continuing through it.

I'm also hoping that because the air from the tire won't be thrown up, but back, the exhaust smell will be reduced.

03 919 (most of it anyway)

I agree when it comes to functional. You won't see too much of it if you keep the twin can high exhaust. IMO , to show it off properly you would need to install a 900rr single side low exhaust.

Just from experience, you've got to get out there a long way to stop the squirt gun effect of the rear tire. That's why the stock reflector is hung out there so far. Since I tour a lot I've kept the rear fender, but cut the reflector off. I've actually seen the water spray come over the top of the bike in front of me. It only happens at low speed, and didn't do it before I cut off the reflector.

But doing the hugger for looks is cool.

Does anyone have the CF one that you can order on Wild Hair??? I'm thinkin' about dropping $700+ and getting the front fender, rear hugger and the side panels, all in CF. Just wondering if anyone has any opinions after they purchased them.

sbeau1960's Pyramid Plastics carbon fiber (also available in ABS plastic) hugger , IMO, is the best looking hugger available for the 919. It emulates the RR's pointed trailing edge. The shape is much more racier than the Coerce, GSG, and others. You can order one through http://www.revsperformance.com

Also check out the Coerce front fender. Again, their fender has a racier profile than stock. Check with http://www.pacmax.com/coerce%20cfff.html
