I Must Sell The 919

Any one interested? I'd rather sell to someone from here before I offer her up to the masses. 2002 Black 919.
Totally stock other than engine protector bars, tail light integrator, grab rail removed and black mirrors. (Chrome mirrors included of course)
My bike is in perfect condition as far as the engine. A few minor scrathes on plastic from normal use and storage. I maintain her well. She has just over 14,000 miles on her. Always kept inside. I will post pics if there is an interest shown.
I live in New York. Long Island to be exact.
I dont start work until September and I cant pay my bills until then so i need the cash now. Im sad. I love this bike.

It is a sad day when this happens. I had to do it a few years back to buy a house. But I understand there a tons of reasons.

At least if you keep the credit good, another newer, better bike is in the future.

Thank you for your sympathy. The thought of a new Honda in the future is what is keeping me from being really depressed right now. This bike was my partner through a very rough time in my life, she's like a friend, as silly as that may sound.

Not silly at all.
We all need a break from reality.
Some people like to talk.
I like to put in ear plugs and ride.

It makes perfect sense.

Just do not allow yourself to have an emotional attachment to a peice of machinery. Appreciate what it has done for you and realize at a better time, you will find another friend similar.

you will miss it. I think everyone misses their first bike.
almost like a first love.

Well-stated, F4i. I think I tend to personify my bike too much. You've put it in the best perspective.

Good luck selling her, shayne! Sounds like you have your priorities in the right place, and that always pays dividends down the road.

I need to get like $3,000 for her. She is in great shape and well worth it. I take care of her and keep her running smooth.

Hi- I dont know how far you are but I've made it to PA in three hours. Im in Huntington, NY 11746 if you want to do a search. I do all the basic maintenance and I use Pro Honda oil. Tires have another season on them for sure. Everything works mint. Im only offering this price to members on this forum cause i love this group.

we are about 4 hours apart. how does the backend look with the integrator, i could not see where the license plate mounted...do you have the old parts? pa is pretty picky with inspections wanting the reflectors and all that. also do you the old grab rail, wife would appreciate that. um...like i said more close of pics would be appreciated, especially of the rear for the license plate mount, and of the guage cluster and such. thanks!

You'll have no issue at all with the inspections in PA, and you would be crazy not to jump on this deal!

when i have had my last 3 inspected, they wanted the proper license plate mount and reflectors. personally i like the clean look of it removed, but i gotta have on what they require, not into buying parts to pass inspection.

i'm in pa and have the fender eliminator and no reflectors and have had no problems. maybe the shop you take it to are just hardasses but i have had zero problems. try a different shop and please don't let that hassle persuade you in jumping on a great bike.

I think it would be very worth it to swipe up a clean and maintained 919 for $3000 no matter what stock parts were missing...mostly because you could find a stock fender and grab bar and still come out way on top because of a good deal like this...

just my 2 pennies...

Also interested, but 1000 mi away

It seems like all of the deals are in the northeast or are west of Dallas

...I have heard that you can't always trust shippers.
and my preference would be to ride it home (but not from NY)

Have you considered just getting a loan against the bike to get you through Sept? 3k is losing money on this bike. You'll kick yourself later. Don't borrow full value, just what you'll need to get by till Sept.
