How much did you pay for your 919?

In early spring 2009, an owner of a 9er w 3400 miles and in excellent condition asked for $6400--I answered no way. In the spring, he came down to $6k--still no. Early summer time, he called w $5500--no again. Midsummer he called again and asked for 4900 and that was his final offer. So I said not interested. By late summer I figured that I wouldnt buy a bike but lo n and behold, I get a text from this guy that only read: $3900.
Of course I bought it. The bike also had a large givi box and an F-16 windshield.
What a freaking deal.

ya thats one hell of a deal!

bikes go for a little more out here in so cal..

Grabbed my 04 silver 919 w/ 3500 mi on it for 4200 bucks back 2.5 yrs ago. There was another 07 red for 4700 bucks at the time, and i kinda wish i went with that, as i like the color better and it didnt have the dent in the tank.

But overall very happy with my purchase... i doubt ill ever sell the 919.

The price

I bought my 2002 niner in 2004. I paid $4000.00 Canadian (about $3100 US at the time) for the bike which had 7000 kilometres (about 4200 miles). The owner was on crutches for nearly a year. He didn't like that bike.

Got a 2003 919 in September of 2008 for $2800, no dickering. Found it via Craig's Helper (AKA Search Tempest), it was the cheapest 919 within 200 miles of me. It was in one of the more waning cities of upstate NY. The seller was a younger guy, mid-20s, I think he was hard-up for some cash, but he was pretty cool about the entire transaction.

Purchased a 2004 w/ 1200 miles on it in 2010 for $3800. I think it had sat at the dealer for a while and they just wanted it gone.

You got it for $3,800 at a dealer? That's a steal, son!

I bought mine from a man who never rode it, just let it sit in a garage. It had also fallen over when the kickstand had pushed through hot pavement. small dent in the tank, '02, but only 1728 miles, and I paid a cool $2,250.

October of 2011, bought a 2007 with 9600 miles.
Originally asked for 4800, but settled on $4200 and he removed the one-out exhaust and programmer and returned it to factory.

2007 Honda 919.
Used to be Red, now it's Green. Open for name suggestions.

Garage
My senior year in high school, I bought a 1986 Lincoln Town Car from a good customer of my dad's. Paid $375 for it. I had it for a year and fixed it up and painted it. All up cost was about $1000. Put the old gal on craigslist and sold her for $2000 cash. I took the money and bought a 2003 Shadow 750 Ace from my dad. After having that bike for a year, I found an '03 919 on craigslist asking $2500 or trade. I offered my Ace and he was interested. His wife said if he had the shadow, she would ride with him, so of course we traded bikes.

Pretty much, I went from this-

fixed her up to this-

To buy this-

And ended up with this-

1985 Kawasaki GPZ900r
1999 Honda CBR1100XX
2005 Honda ST1300

I got my 05 new in Canada when $ 1 USA = $ 1.20 CDN.
It was about $ 8300 USA CDN equivalent at that time.
I hated flat black, I hated the green, so buying used was not an option.
But one day down the road I'll look at it in terms of $$ per year owned, and it will be a bargain.
For sure one of the best purchases I have made.
But it forced me into buying more stuff, in an effort to get it "just so".
It's near done now, but not quite.

Aargh, I was just in Palestine!

I've been jonesin' for a 919 since last fall. Been lurking here ever since. I'm ready to pounce on a decent priced 05. Found a nice one about 700 miles away, but....$5900 for a 7 year old bike that listed for around $8K? That's crazy.

2002 919 w/1,535 miles for $4,300.00. Came with a jacket, two helmets, everything to rebuild the front brake mastercylinder, calipers and brake lines. He thought it was dragging on release but it was only hitting the lever adjuster. All OE parts. Uh, caliper lock and complete OE fuel pump assembly. He said that the low fuel light was coming on too early and replaced it.

I previously paid $4,200.00 for a '07 919 w/1,600 miles but that's when they were cheaper. Seems like the prices have gone up a bunch. I figure I'm lucky to get my '02 for that price.
