Hornet Stung

Well....saw my first 919 not quite 2 years ago.Been droooling ever since.
Mainly to cure my mid-life crisis since they haven't legalized drugs yet.
Picked this up over the weekend 9.4K miles with a Honda unlimited mileage
warranty good till April 09.I gave $3900 for it was that good or bad?
Do you guys think I can get another 2000 miles from that rear tire?

Rich, you can try a photo hosting service like Photobucket, or shutterfly for posting up images. Then you can embed the image in the post.

it needs new tiedown straps and maybe a brush for its dog. other than that, trim the rear fender and send us the pix of the rear tire's final moments. maybe trim the fender AFTER the bon fire, come to think of it. you know, to keep the back of your neck cleaner.

congrats.

I think the deal was OK if everything is in good shape. Get new tires! I wouldn't go another 20 miles on that rear tire let alone 2000. I'm not even going to ask what you are doing with that tape

I don't think it's a bad price, depending on the year. But even for the miles, it's pretty good, and it looks good too. Let us know when you get the first (possibly of many) mod on it!

BTW, is that a Golden Retriever?

It's an 03 does not appear to been dropped..no marks anywhere.Ordered a set of Continental Sport Attacks and a chain.Everything else seems fine.
The duct tape was an attempt at humor, the reason it was in the pick up
was because I did not want to ride it at all with that thing on it.

That rear tire looked like the one ratdog was riding on when he attended last weeks BBQ. He rode all the way back to south NJ form CT without incident.

By Southern California standards, you got a hellava deal. $3900 would get you an 2002 with 40k plus miles on the odo. ---Enjoy your 919!

Rob 919 sorry...the dog is an 18month old pit.We have 4 dogs
2 pits, a wheaton terrier and a shepard mix.The shepard I think is part ridgeback because when riled the hair on her back stands up.Everyone is terrified of the pits yet the cute loveable terrier is the only one that has ever
bitten anyone. On more than one occasion.
Boy it's difficult to concentrate here at work.......I want to RIDE.

"Yes" on the price.

"Yes" on the tires.*

*as long as you only ride on the shoulders of them and never in a straight line!

By the way, let me know what you think about the Sport Attacks. I run Road Attacks and love 'em.

Yeah, I hear you on other people's perception of Pits, especially with Dog-fighting A-Holes like Vick on this Earth. My best friend in Dallas also has 2 Pits, a Lab-mix, and 2 terriers. The 2 Pits are also very freindly. In fact, one of them is a very sweet dog. The lab-mix is a dufus spaz, but the 2 terriers are the ones to watch out for... they'll snap at you if you rub them the wrong way.

We used to have a westhighland terrier 'Spike' cute as a button , he was the meanest little thing I've ever seen.Bit everyone in the family but my wife.
I was all for putting him to sleep, for some reason everybody loved him.
He lasted 12 years , buried under an oak tree with his bed and food bowl.
Can't wait for the weekend my tires should be here and I can play.

Great bike congrats. I rode my original BT014 until it actually died and would not hold air. I had to ride it on the rim to the Honda dealer. It felt real strange with some grip when I got the new tire.
