Can't wait sounds like a great time. Is the best bet for a motel the Two Wheel Inn? I don't have enough luggage space for camping gear.

Went last year--it was beautiful. All of Skyline Drive and the Blue Ridge Parkway, Cherohala Skyway and the Tail of the Dragon. Have fun, y'all!

I'll be there, bringing the wife. Pulling the bike in a 6x8 U-Haul. It's about a day and a half drive from Omaha.
Should arrive in the area Thursday or Friday, leaving Monday or Tuesday.
We have a room reserved for 3 nights at the Two Wheel Inn in Robbinsville, we're gonna need to find a place for a couple more nights,
but we're currently unsure about how it's gonna play out.
I'll update when I know more.

Abba Zaba, you my only friend.

I'll probably do Fri morn until Sun evening.

Holiday Inn in Marysville works good if you're coming down from the north. I'd rather take a beatin thatn have to drive 129 in a truck pulling a trailer.

you know, I've been thinkin' about that...

I'm not really looking forward to pulling a small 6x8 behind my Tacoma, but I guess I've seen full-sized 18 wheelers going through there on Killboy. I've already got a room reserved, but staying up in Maryville does look like it would have it's advantages... AND it's about another 1.5 hours closer to home.

You could always cancel your reservation. I just checked their site and the cancellation fee is $20. Come on...stay on the cool side of the dragon.

Heck, you might save $20 in fuel by shaving off 3 hours of dragging a trailer through the hills.
