I am currently in the process of painting my Powerbronze bellypan (the faux carbon fiber is looking ragged after a year of commuting). I prepped the plastic properly, deep soap clean, 600 grit, alcohol cleaning wipe, tack cloth... and primed it with 2 coats of primer... currently applying the second color coat. Everything is looking good so far, however when ordering the Honda Asphalt paint in the can it specifically said to not clear coat the paint, however a can of clear coat was included and the directions state for a eggshell/matte finish to use a single light application of clearcoat.
Has anyone re/painted with Asphalt and should I clearcoat it? The bellypan is two-piece (a small triangular front piece/manifold guard attaches) so I can always test and do-over on the small piece. I’m just asking for any experience/suggestions
