honda heaven

Rode off bike on friday afternoon 14th , heading with a group up to Mt. Hotham in Victoria. It was raining and I was 2nd in the group, until the first rider was booked for speeding. So I took the lead and about 30km later was aproaching a left hand corner when i changed down 2 gears lightly applied both brakes, bike dropped suddenly. All was ok until toyota landcruiser popped in view, bike went under 4wd and I slid into its rear wheel in a fetal position and then bounced off. Thankfully I did not go under or was still with the bike. I servayed the situation & looked back on the path I just travelled & could see oil for 25m up the road which was not from my bike when I crashed. It was the first time rain had fell on that particular road for a while and log trucks use this road heavily which I guess might account for the amount of oil on the road which the rain had not yet washed away. Also the gear I was wearing did its job, leather pants, leather boots, leather gloves, cordura jacket with armour and helmet saved me from skin loss. Can't speak highly enough about the gear.

PS I might have a few bike parts for who ever is interested which I will post soon.

Very glad you are ok. Once again we hear real world accounts on how gear saved a person from greater injuries. I just don't understand why some people fight it.

There's your plan and then there's God's plan.........
Your's doesn't matter.

The main thing is that you survived to ride again some day. Sorry for your loss however.

Congrats on making it through that one! I must say I'm having trouble picturing your crash. You say it was a left hander however you and the bike hit an auto... was the auto in front of you or coming from the other direction?
